hello
i was doing some ubers in a game when i left and got what my friends call a "relm down" which is just like when you join games to fast and when u sign in it says your " connection has temporraily be restricyed...." and it usally lifts restrictions in about a hour but this time it was 5 and counting and i wasnt joining and exiting quickly either anybody know what the deal is?
Thanks
Have you been continually trying to log into battle.net on a regular basis during this restriction? If so, it's believed that this will prolong it. It's generally better to wait for abit (say...30-40 mins) before trying to re-log back on.
I've have been getting the same problem. 6 IP Bans since the servers came back up on Wed. Just got one last night and I'm still banned this morning (11.5 hrs and counting). I've never gotten it for the "too many games" rule this time it was my 4th game in an hour. It always happens with a connection interrupted in the middle of a game. Really getting me agrevated! Right now the only thing I can think is somehow they are detecting the use of a gmerc. Several times this has happened when I am glitching. Can anyone validate this?
Temporary Restrictions are enacted when you run too many commands server-side.
If you teleport way, way too fast you can get a TempRes (a.k.a. TR). Did you consider that maybe you are changing the equipment too quickly?
Every time you try to join while restricted you extend the time you are restricted. TRs almost never last for any more than 2 days initially. Use this time to take a break from the game and play single player or, better yet, do something else entirely. If you can not take a 2 day break from the game without getting the shakes or something then you have serious problems.
It is also possible Blizzard set up a special TR condition to counter GMerc. I would be completely surprised if they actually did something to counter something like this for once. Usually they let it go and lag the Hell out of the server; maybe this time they are actually taking action on it. If so, then that is great, and that is what you get for using an exploit. Exploits are considered fair play but they are not always around (~waves goodbye to Marrowwalk sploitz~) and not always condoned by the game masters (~gets ready to wave goodbye to Gmerc~).
Ive been playing for several years, and I'd like to verify something peculiar occurring, whereas these restrictions would tend to last about one hour in the recent past, I have had two 11+ hour restrictions within four days, and it severely demerits the value of this video game, one I have loved for freeking Eons. We all know how to log back in within the shortest time imaginable, we've done the procedure more than one thousand times. I am currently enduring a nine hour restriction, and am sure there must be others like me who have logged back in after some weeks away and wish to build a new char, get to the good parts and WHAMMO, the part of the game that defines it a "broken game" clamps down on our face. In the middle of a private game, while talking to Cain with a lvl 1 mule, battle.net deploys it's anti-terrorism tactics against me. It's not that I get the 'shakes' or whatever, my issue is purely one of logic. If i spend two hours enjoying the game, and spend the next ten NOT enjoying the game, is it still a game? I would like a response from blizzard as to how I might maintain interest in their product. It took me six years to build the wealth for a first smiter, and at lvl 76, he's ready to bust out with the crazy space gear. The timing of this event brings frustration I think may be shared in the days to come, by several people, many of which will make no contact with a gaming community for help.
p.s. I don't even know what gmerc is. I have never cheated, or done anything, like I stated, out of the ordinary. For crying out loud. We know how to maintain a six year habit by any means nessesary, thus, say hello to my FIRST POST!!! :D
Are there any solid rules/wait times on how to avoid getting banned? I got banned for the first time last night and it's been over 12 hours.
play slow
wait a few secs between actions changing chars, and about 5min between creating or joining other games
while playing dont say the same tings over and over again
wait for the server to respond between teleing
dont change skills quickly, using scroll wheel and scrolling through them will give temp bans
if the server slows or stops responding while playing wait for it to catch up

I wanted to raise a very disturbing problem I've been having the past few days.
I recently received a temp ban. The longest I ever had for over a few hours. I kept trying to log in after an hour or so to no avail. Finally, I just gave up and left the game alone for a full 36 hours straight. I try to log in, I get in with no problems whatsoever. Then I try to make a game to mule some items around. I make a game in normal, wait and after about 20 seconds it says "Your connection has been interrupted". It keeps doing this consistently no matter WHAT i do. If I make the game and just sit there. I get dropped. If I run around. I get dropped. If I open up a town portal or take a waypoint I get dropped. I can make and enter games but after a few seconds it automatically drops me for NO apparent reason.
Does anyone know why this is happening and anyway to remedy it???? I'm very frustrated right now.

Restarting my computer seems to have fixed the problem....

erm guys there a simple thing you can. Reset your ip, If you got a router just go in the settings and disconnect and connect again.
If your connected straight on the modem
Run>cmd>ipconfig>ipconfig /release> Ipconfig /renew
Enjoy :)
Resetting your IP does not work. If it happened to work for you, you just got lucky and the restriction was lifted while you were renewing.
Say hi to 2006 for me :dopey:
