Hi, I'm pretty new to sorceresses (after 5 years of playing  ), and I have a question about Chilling Armor.

The description on Arreat Summit says: "The spell actually defends against ranged attacks, turning aside arrow and bolt."

I've been using it for a few levels and I haven't noticed it negating any of the ranged attacks fired against me, it just shoots an ice bolt towards the enemy and I still get hit.

So, apart from the defense bonus, does the skill also deflect ranged attacks? Maybe I've just not noticed.

Other than raising your defense and your chance to not be hit, it doesn't actually "deflect" the attack. An ice bolt will shoot off in the direction that the bolt came from, regardless of you being damaged or not.

Yeah... it's kinda disappointing, but Arreat Summit loves making the skills sound nice.

Thought so. Well, it's still cool to look at. In hardcore, it's also good for alerting me when something's shooting at me. Sometimes I don't notice the arrows/bolts until it's too late.

Yeah, they also chill the monsters a bit, giving you more time to react.

Chilling Armor is the best cold armor in existance.
