Click Rapidly To Start Game?

I hear this is an old bug but I have to click rapidly for the game to actually load once I click the icon on my desktop. Sometimes that doesn't even work and my monitor just goes idle.It happens sometimes when I try to join games online too.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
