View Full Version : Natural resistance
Why does everyone say that it is not good to put many points in it?

Because it has diminishing returns and you normally get enough +skills from equipment to reach the area where that skill will improve res by only 1-2% per skill point. In addition, barbs don't really have problems to rech max res, e.g. with the IK set, a torch and Metalgrid .
I think 1 point in it is still recommended, just not more than 1 due to dminishing return to scale as Krischan said.

Yeah, definitly put 1 point.
I red on some website that it is good to put 5 points.
Can you explain what is dminishing? I'm from Croatia so I don't know english very well.

Diminishing is like...
If you put more than needed in, it won't pay off in the long run. You'll get less and less as the skill points are put in, until you're down to like half a res point per skill point.

each point added is less efficient, from a res/skill perspective.
It is less efficient but still raises the resistence by a small percent. Your point is: "Beter use that skill on something else.". Is it?
Does that happen with other skills?

Yep, when you ave put, say 5 points in there. And with your +skill gear you have a lvl of x in natural resistance. The difference in resistance gained by the skill at the level x and the level x-1 is only 1 or 2. So instead of spending that one whole skillpoint to gain 1 or 2 resistance isnt worth it. Use it in something else, mastery or some warcry maybe.
