i was wondering how enchant works in the new patch. i just checked a version 1.10 skill planner, and i dont see a significant difference in damage when i compare the damage on the lower levels with the updated damage on the arreat summit website, but there are 2 things that surprised me, when i have a fully synergised enchant at lvl 45 it does 3500-4000 fire damage, which does not seem as a whole lot of damage, offcourse this can be increased with facets, ormus and eschata's to 25(from fire facetted eschuta) + 20(ormus) + 10(lets say 2sox fire facet headgear) + 20 (fire facet shield) for a total of 75 fs dmg, which makes the dmg around 6125-7000, but ive heard people talking about 12000+dmg, sometimes even more, is this just bragging or is the some way to achieve this i cant see?
and nr 2 the v1.1 skill planner mentions that the enchant damage is only 1/3 when applied on a bow, however on the arreat summit website i read this
"Using Enchant on ranged weapons boosts the damage a variable amount"
apparently they changed this but can the enchant damage exceed the dmg displayed in the skill screen display?, and what is the lowest perc of damage of what the skill screen displays that is possible? in other words what is the bandwidth of damage possible?

k i figured out that the high damage comes from a second time that fire mastery damage is applied on hit when using melee attack, that explains the high enchant damage, however still need information on how the enchant damage will vary when applied on bow

Fire Mastery is applied twice in melee, however for a bow you want a bow that has "exploding arrows on attack" so that the fire damage of enchant gets applied onto the splash fire damage. This splash deals the listed enchant damage to all targets it hits, including the original target that the arrow hit.
I think it's worth it to use ranged arrow to hit all monsters with one arrow instead of one melee hit doing double damage.

yes but unfortunately there are no bows that use both guided arrows and have splash damage  , and i think its not double damage but 373 ed so more like almost 5 times the damage, anyways really s** that it doest work on bows :sad2: , main thing that i wanted to know whas the range of dmg (mayb its random or mayb it has boundaries in the form of a percentage of the enchant damage that is displayed in the skill tab),

Ummm... one melee hit does a HECKUVA lot more than double damage.

Consider: You have +100% fire damage (slvl 11 Fire Mastery). You also have a 100 average damage enchant (let's say slvl 21 enchant and 2 hard points in warmth) NOT COUNTING the Fire Mastery. Fire Mastery gives +100% damage, taking you to 200 average. Now, you attack melee. Fire Mastery kicks in again with +100% damage again, taking you to 400 average fire damage. In other words, a slvl 11 Fire Mastery doesn't double your damage... it QUADRUPLES it. And that's just slvl 11! With slvl 46 Fire Mastery, an enchant that deals 100 average damage without FM will deal *1980* average damage WITH enchant. That's right, you multiply the damage almost TWENTY TIMES OVER.

With slvl 46 Enchant/FM, you'll be dealing almost 18,000 damage per hit in melee combat.

Now, I'm not quite sure how Enchant combines with ranged attacks, but if it deals the full damage, that's only 3974 damage per hit. If it deals 1/3 damage, as has been suggested, that drops down to 1325 damage per hit. Assuming that you have an equal attack speed both ranged and melee, you would need to hit 14 enemies with every arrow for your damage output to be the same in ranged as it would be in melee. And that's assuming you have an equal attack speed- a very bad assumption since Melee Enchantresses can gain access to Zeal, which attacks far quicker than they could fire any arrows.

A slvl 46 Fireball, entirely unsynergized except for the Fire Mastery, will actually deal more damage per hit than an arrow fired by an Enchantress with a slvl 46 Enchant. The arrows carry a chance to pierce and deal double damage, but Fireballs can also be synergized, too.
