Lowering resistance

What are the best ways to lower resistance through equipment that use either auras or Necro curses. I am already familiar with griffon helm, infinity, eschutas with facets and so forth. I'm looking for other possible ways. Maybe through the add skills given by items with limited quantities. Such as the hydras from torches but in my case it would be the lower resist curse. I could always replenish the item using the cube.

Pretty sure your only other option is a wand (or other weapon) with charges of Lower Resist curse. Level 3 Lower Resist is the highest that can spawn, but these are pretty rare (you have to be very high level to shop one, or the item has to drop from a very high level monster). Level 2 Lower Resist charges are easily shopped and fairly common.

what about life tap, whats the highest lvl can i get on an item ? cause i found a rare bone knife with lvl 4 life tap 90 charges and i have some other items with lvl 2or3 life tap 60 charges iirc..

K thanks i'll put the wand on my switch since i don't currently use a CTA.
For those who do have a cta i recomment using it before going to attack then switching your cta with wand. Curse your opponent switch and destroy them. I would probably be best versus booses or baals minions.

List of skill mods found on items (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=475975), incomplete yet but working on it. look for lower resist on the ctc tables and you'll find an item named pus spitter and other one named medusa's gaze. Pus spitter is a exceptional crossbow with 4% ctc level 1 lower resist on strike. Medusa's gaze is a 1337 shield and has 10% level 7 lower resist when struck, strength req is 219 :rolleyes:.


Pus spitter could acctually work on an strafe/lightning hybrid ama ... sorc will struggle with ar unless you get some kind of ar boost/itd or equal.

I still feel an Infinity on merc is much easier to use than a wand on switch, and the lvl12 conviction on Infinity is more than twice as powerful as a lvl3 lower resist from wand. One difference is that conviction doesn't lower poison resist while lower resist does, but no sorc uses poison attacks anyway.
To SoM, the highest lvl of life tap you can get from an item is lvl6, only from hell baal iirc.

I use a Crescent Moon Crystal Sword on my pure lightning-sorc. Works very well with Griffon and Infy-merc.
