View Full Version : First timer... Can't connect to battle.net

Hi, I've played single player for a while and I'm tempted to try playing online, however when I try to join "Open Battle.net" I can not connect. I'm living in Sweden and I guess I would be connecting to the Europe realm? But where do I specify where to connect to?

Something weird is that in the menu where u choose gateway i find some server.fsgs.net, broodwars.com, brutal clan server and "localhost 0.0.0.0". My friend said that I should have Europe here... I've installed and played with the patch 1.11b on single player...

Can anyone help me what to do? Can one add other battle.net gateways to connect to?

Thanks, It's now working to connect... however I can't join any games =((( Maybe firewall issue? I start connecting and when the red line is finally loaded it says: "Failed to join game"

The Europe realm is currently suffering from severe lags which often results in "failed to join games" errors.

Open bnet is full with characters hacked to a ridiculous extent, so don't expect too much from it. If you want to avoid that, better play on closed bnet. You won't be able to bring in your single player characters then, however.

BTW, if you don't have an explanation why the server list was like that, you either have a hacked version of the game or some other hack changed the server list. I think that would be a serious issue, so IMO you should at least uninstall and reinstall the game and run a virus check... or better reinstall Windows and everything.

krischan: thanks for your input, I've only tried the ATMA V tool and something called d2_gatesel that are 3rd party programs... I'm using daemon tool for the LoD CD but the key is legit... Could any of these programs cause some failure?
