Hihi. I've recently rolled a pure lightning sorceress to do some rushing and MF, but I've run into some problems. Right now my sorc is 77 and using this gear:
Helm: Tarnhelm
Chest: Spirit Shroud
Weapon: Magic Staff (+3 Light skills, +2 lightning, +1 CL)
Ammy: +3 Light skills
Ring1: Some +dex +34% Light resist ring, **** basically
Ring2:8 energy and (woot) 100 AR
Boots: Some rare 30% R/W 14% MF boots
Gloves: Rare gloves with +11 mana +5 health
Belt: Goldwrap

So, while I have a decent lightning damage of 10k... I can't take **** for hits.
684 HP / 264 Mana... yeah, my stats suck.
My attributes are right now sitting at 70 str 70 dex 280 or so vit and 5 points put into energy.

So, what I'm asking is, what can I go for to get my stats up? I have a reasonable amount of money to get mid-higher items, but no character to really bring in any consistent form of money. Should I put some points into energy? My mana is helllaaa low... I couldn't even rush someone through normal without blowing around 30 pots (I don't use MH)

Thanks a bunch for any advice you have,
Kosh >.>

Don't waste your points in energy. Make yourself an Insight in any polearm, stick it on your merc, and voila, infinite mana.

1. with a non-blizz sorc, the only safe and consistent way to do mf is shenk, pindle and eldritch, and it's very slow.

2. you can make good cheap runewords, such as a spirit shield and spirit sword (dump the staff.) use switch weps for kills on mf.

3. i always recommend 156 str. it helps a lot. dex is optional. in general, you only need either 75 for wizardspike or 200 for max block. it's too late for max block, so you can leave the dex where it is.

4. don't buy potions in normal. buy them in hell and come back to normal (although you spend 50% less on greater mana pots (in nm) than super mana pots (in hell).)

5. don't worry about your mana. once you get a frostburns (extremely easy to find), harle, lidless, glooms and/or silkweaves, your mana problems will just disappear. or, you can do the insight thing as mentioned above (note that you don't need a merc, which is bad for rushing as he keeps dying, but you can wield it yourself. put it into a poleaxe or other normal polearm.)

1. That is false. My meteorb sorc does Baal solo. I agree that light sorc might have more problems though.
2. Dual spirit owns, unless you have much better gear.
3. I too recommend 156 str (after +str), for spirit or SS.
4/5. Insight on merc solves all. Merc shouldn't die in norm or nm unless your tactics are poor. In hell, you do need a decent polearm and leech helm/armor.

By the way, it also seems like you have horrible FCR. That would get you killed. When there is little lag, the best way a sorc can survive is to tele strategically so that you don't get hit at all.
