Mf meteorb gear

Im making a meteorb sorce for mfing and i had a couple questions about gear.

Im going to use Full Tals, Chancies, and War Travs.

I dont know what rings or Shield im going to use...

I dont want to use spirit monarch because then i will have to put 156 points into strength.

Whats an alternative for spirit?

And for rings i cant afford 2 sojs so whats an alternative for that?

re: shield: the best shield for mf is a 4 ist monarch, and you'll need 156 str for that. the second best is a rhyme at 70 less mana, no skills, but it does have cb. splendor has +1 skills, 20 mf, but no cbf. or, you can take any shield and stick an ist in it and get as much mf as a rhyme.

re: rings: any garbage rare/magical with useful mods and mf is fine. since you are using tal's set, you can ditch the ammy and still get the mf bonus. switch to an angel's ammy with 2 rings. that will result in 100 mf.

in general though, shield/rings are a low source of mf (except for the 4ist shield as mentioned earlier) for sorcs, which is why sojs/fcr rings are recommended.

Shield: the most common sorc shields are SS or Spirit Monarch.

Looking at your gear, it seems like the core of your FCR will come from Tal's set, so if you're not using spirit or magefist, then it may be a good idea to sink your rings with FCR.

If you need the strength for SS, get some grand charms or a huge +str ammy , and get it to support itself (SS adds 30 str) be careful you dont become the item fountain though :)

(I dont trade on the level of ists, so I use magefist, 2 nagels, and a SS)

Rhyme is nice, high block, cbf, resists, and 25 mf. you might ditch that for mosers with 2 pdiamond, you loose out 25 mf and cbf, but gain some more resists and even higher block. Ravenfrost+nagel is a nice pair of rings. Ravenfros will give you the cbf, the nagel is for mf, you may want to get an fcr+ stats/mana/life/reists/mf rare instead.

Another few shield options to consider if you don't need MF there and would like block are:

Whistans

Lidless can be an alternative to Spirit as well.

In terms of rings: some nice rare with mods stated above would be dandy. Raven is particularly useful not only for CBF (really only important if you walk/melee) but also the dex bonus, which can go a decent way to helping achieve block.
