What's the difference between a grand charm dropped by baal and a grand charm dropped by any other monster?

those gc's dropped by baal are used to cube new gc's

cube gc: gc + 3pgem in cube

only baal, diablo and nithalak gc's can turn out in a skiller with 4xlife because they have an higher ilvl

thats the reason why people need it, they want to cube themself a 4x+ life skiller ;)

To get a skiller with 40 life, you need a grandcharm with ilvl at least 77.
To get a skiller with 41-45 life, you need a grandcharm with ilvl at least 91.

Hell Baal, Hell Diablo, and Hell Nihlathak are the only monster with mlvl >= 91 so they are the only monsters who can drop charms with ilvl >= 91.

To be precise, those gcs are the only ones that can get 41+ life (not 4x :p).
Any gc with 41+ life is considered as baal gc, and is always worth trading.

There are still numerous people who think that you can only get such from baal, but as already said, diablo and nihlathak can also drop one.

Lol, so the difference between a baal gc and a regular one is.. 5 life?

Yes, but that extra 5 life can at least double the value of a 40 life one if the prefix is good (skillers, max dmg/attack rating)

Sorry to ress such an old thread. Basically any GC that drops from those 3, even if it's junk stats, can be re-rolled and possibly create a skiller?

I wish I knew that before I vendor'd all the GC's that I got from them that sucked.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see similar posts on the first page there.. I googled 'Baal GC' and this thread came up first.

Noodle reports that any GC that drops from Nightmare Flayer Jungle can be rerolled to create a skiller. GC's that drop from the three cuddly critters mentioned above are the only ones that can drop potential skillers with the attendant +41 - 45 to life.

Noodle approves of this message.

for best chances to create a skiller, use late NM Kurast GC's like noodle says, because that is the first place where they appear and there aren't a buttload of higher mods that can interfere with the rollchance of +1 skill...

the GC's from those three are rerolled to get the possibility of a +41-5 life along with the +1 skill... like noodle says

The odds of rolling are however only improved from ~1:23 to ~1:22 though while you miss out on multiple life suffixes. Go for the ilvl 91+ GC's.

I was wondering how does one prove that the charm has dropped from one of the three bosses?

You can't..

You can't..

Not exactly true

Any gc with 41+ life is considered as baal gc

This is the only way to "prove" it has dropped from baal, diablo or nithalak
