Hi all

i have made a deal for a trade for Ik gloves. I have tried to whisper the other guy who is online(whereis *) but am being told I cannot whisper to that user.


Any reason for this.

Well... if the person is on-line, you should be able to whisper them. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the system, but it can be slightly complex for those unfamiliar. In order to whisper someone, you can do either of the following:

1. type: /w *accountname your message
2. type: /w charactername your message

It can also be tricky with the account names because an L can look like a 1, a o like a 0, etc.

He might be trying to join a game at the moment (failed to join game) you are whispering him.
I've had a similar experience and I think that's one thing that causes it.

Other one is when the account is on but the player is standing in the char select screen, I believe.

Could that be the msg sent when someone is on Do Not Disturb mode ?

I have copy/paste his acc so there is no typing error. Guess it could be DnD

He can also be in the lobby/chat screen, but not logged into a chat - in this case, he recieves only friends list whispers.

Edit: I think if he's in DnD, you'll get a message saying so.

If you /f a him, you can /f m and message him in the 'lobby' without the You can't whisper that user error.
