How about we get luck shrines! give you 200 mf for 2 minutes or so. Just a though!

I think someone suggested that a while ago.
They should just have shrines that spawn random mods from the game, like life leech, cb, cannot be frozen, etc. Useful stuff you would notice.
How funny would it be to hit a shrine that adds +10 to light radius? Useless!

<edit> posted in the wrong topic...
Ugly Shrine
effect: casts lvl 50 terror on all monsters with 10 spaces
So ugly, even shenk's rear end cringes at the thought.

The luck shrine idea is nice.

How about shrines that turn you into a random monster. It would be hilarious if my sorc was morphed into a Death Lord or something.
luck shrines sound quite a good idea. I've often thought repair shrines would be quite useful myself. they could perhaps make them spawn incredibly rarely and have them repair eth items.

That would be a VERY bad idea. Gogo eth-item-repair-bot.

I suggest an aura shrine that gives a low lvl aura randomly selected from a few.

yes. Nothing like enabling a lvl 5 resist fire aura; that might make resist shrines worth clicking once in a while.

or how about one that spawns Diablo, Mephisto, Baal, or another high level monster?
Hmm.... they have Monster Shrines for that ability, but not as extreme as spawning an Act boss.
Mirror Shrine: a replica of your character appears and copies your every move :D
Although, that would add to the already existing imbalance between casters and melees :/

How about one that would create a copy of yourself which you fight... Man vs. Machine...

I really like the idea of a shrine that gives random abilities like you might find on items, ie: chance to cast, extra MF, IAS, aura, ED, etc.
It would be much like the shrines in Diablo1 wherein they were all random.

Lucky Shrines? They're magically delicious!!!
You know how portal shrines seem to be placed most often near waypoints? I bet those Luck Shrines would usually be placed at the end of areas you just cleared.
How about Rune Shrines. Like Gem Shrines, they would upgrade a rune in your inventory one level. (Die! Die! Dupers!)

The best, Mirror Shrine.
Thy strongest enemy is thyself...
No PvP rules. :D 1 hit deathmatch.

Only the goat shrines in Diablo 1 were random. All the other shrines like "Spooky" were set with predetermined changes.

Imagine the abuse..

Another possibility, rather than fighting yourself, as there have been various issues raised as to AI and such in other threads: fighting someone separate, like the Dark Wanderer from A3. Do something similar like popping all special chests, blah blah blah, make a portal to a special area where there's the Dark Wanderer. Perhaps give him max on all skills of all classes. However, it will only have access to one skill per tree, or something of that nature. This would provide a new and interesting combat experience. It would probably also require some obligatory skill such as raising more enemies for you to kill, etc. I think it could be fun. I'm not sure what reward you'd get though.
