Sanctuary Shield vs Hoz Shield

For my zealer, which should I use. Sanctuary gives about 15 more resist and 20% FHR while the hoz adds 60 life, 1k AR, 400 damage and better defense after holy shield. I'm thinking the Hoz is better to use, its mods are better than just a little resist and FHR right?

Sanctuary in a 6x/110+ ar elite base can be equal to an umed hoz. In general pvm um hoz is better than all res sanctuary, unless you are doing ubers,where all res sanctuary is my choice.

my sanctuary just does 87 resist and my um hoz does like 72 or somthinh

Almost nothing beats the Um HoZ for general PvM. The only time a Sanctuary beats the HoZ is during ubering where resists matter a hell lot more. A good Sanctuary Kurast or Zakarum shield can have up to 100 over resist, which helps alot against the nasty Mephs conviction aura.

Actually, when I run for destruction keys I use a stormshield. I'm not the biggest fan of hoz for zealots,it works of course but nothing amazing.

I have made a comparison of the two for a zealot some time ago. Skills on hoz offer a total of 58% ed (um rune and u get 72 all res) sanctuary can have up to 65%ed and 70 all res. Blocking and defense can be similar. In tristram ed and smite damage are less a priority than resists. And sanctuary can sport 100+ easily,leaving um hoz at 72. Hoz is a nice package but nothing great for zealots really.

well actually in uber trist I would use 4 topaz shield. Diablo and Baal are pretty weak, and Meph is the only one who's the problem w/ his conviction and triple sources of damage (cold lightning and poison). Since he uses cold mainly when my character is separated, and poison is unnegatable (you can stack resist but there's no poison aabsorb), I'll go w/ p topaz shield for the 200+ lightening resist.
Anyways, uber trist is different. In it what matters is your resist. I'd use kiras, p topaz shield, tgod, raven/wisp. w/ gores, cb glove and a cb weapon or grief you're set to go.
But anyways I don't know anything about pvp zealots and I hear alma negra is better than HoZ for zeals.

Right, but I wouldn't use either of them for zeal-to-zeal duels.

Alma negra sucks. I found one on my sorc, used it for a day on zealer, I still like hoz.

Alma is a pvp item,and easily superior to hoz for zeal/melee duels. It needs to have 2 skills and high stats though,else it kinda sucks,true.
