* If im using a Frost build to add cold damage on my paladin. and i then equip a weapon that has 300-500 fire damage, how will it react to my cold-damage ?

* Im planning on using the Zeal/Holy Frost build explained here on the links and forums. Seems really nice especially me that is untwinked. But what will happend in hell and i meet cold immunes. If it takes 15 seconds to kill one mob each then the build has faild havent it ? =/

- side question -

* Playing pretty much untwinked, what is the most succsessful (spelling) build, iv´e heard zeal/frost but then again what happends in hell ?

A Holy Freeze or a Holy Shock Paladin is a good choice when going untwinked. You could actually punch your way through normal and nightmare as your aura will be doing so much damage. In Hell, however, to deal with cold immunes, you will need a back up attack. I would suggest maxing zeal and sacrifice and using a might mercenary, giving you decent physical damage, as well as improved leech. Of course, this depends on finding a weapon with good damage.

Other possibilites:
Teslafroster: Max both holy freeze and holy shock along with synergies.
+Dual elemental damage deals with any immunes
-Very skill intensive. Little room for Holy Shield, meaning defence will suffer.
Fanatacism as back up
+good physical damage
-depends on having a decent weapon
Run past CI's
+CI's aren't a problem if you never fight them:grin:
-Paladins look stupid when they run

Thanks for your answer

Well, to be really honest im looking for a build for untwinked. And the only thing i ask for is to not _suck_ in hell and get tired. I have never ever played a paladin past lvl 25 because Palas were my first char ever, and i maxed thorns and owned everything, and then magic casters screw me and i died and since then i have hated Palas for really no reson at all because me myself sucked, so now i have a lvl 83 Necro but i miss the melee and being alone not hiding from summons/skeletons/minions. I should allso add i only play Single Player vanilla 1.11

And i love shield, and i studied Paladins with more mature eyes and they seem good, to be honest = very good.
But what build does not SUCK in hell and that do not requires +15 all skills to be viable ? >.<

Building both tesla and frost seems to much. since i like Holy Shi(t)eld :P And Zeal/Frost seems really nice but im scared of standing there in Hell act 1, loving my character and then *BOOM* suck against allmost everything, happend before, and im sure that everyone felt it and deleted the character :P

- Smiter with Fana seems lovely, but that reguires alot of +skill

- Tesla seems nice, but if its allmost the same damage as frost, and frost slows down, then whats the point ?

- Hammerdin, well everyone has, is or will be a hammerdin, well not me...

- then there is a ton of hybrids among palas, i know, but i want a steady, well studyed one.

Guess if i get no help here from people with some Paladin-knowledge i try the Frost build, but Dear God i will hate Palas for the rest of my life if i stand there and get soloed by act1 zombies ;P

(i would love some answers on my question in my first post mates)

Yes, palas look like military dancers on workout-gymnastic when they run with the back facing the player

I'm certainly not an experienced player by any means, but I too am playing an elemental paladin for the first time on single player, so if I may I'd like to suggest an possible alternative build, which I think you asked for, thus contributing my 2... Um... *hunts around for a '2c' smilies*

Well, moving on, after going through the various guides and play testing a few builds up to the middle of Act 2, I chose a Storm Ranger build. Basically, they deal damage using Holy Freeze and Holy Shock, but use a bow (Or crossbow) instead of a sword. If you chose a might merc, together you'd also do some decent physical damage meaning that you'd be guaranteed to hurt any and every monster in the game, if only by a little.

The advantages for me of this build were simply that it looked a nice straightforward character that would pose an interesting (And dare I say fun) challenge, but never find itself in situations where it was impossible to kick demon butt, or at least prod it heavily. It's also a pretty safe build despite not using Holy Shield, the twin benefits of killing from a distance whilst slowing down all who try to attack you can be pretty swish. Plus, you'll generally have more free stat points for vitality then usual, you won't need much strength and dexterity can be taken care of by either making use of the passive bonus BA gives you (5% to AR per skill point), or just hiring a BA merc. You'll also never need Mana... Ever! (Which also helps with inventory space, no more Mana potions/charms clogging it up)

The potential damage isn't bad; maxed-and-syn'd HS does (If my calculations are correct) 3-2995 damage per arrow and 3-499 damage every few secs in a radius of 16.6 yards, HF does 814-836 and 163-167 respectively, and slows everything by 50+%. (And of course, there's any amount of damage from the actual bow on top) If you ever come across a rare Cold and Lightning immune, you could either use your might merc to whittle it down or blast it with HF and run like the wind.

For killing speed in hell, I don't have a clue because I haven't got that far yet, but from what I hear a dual lightning/cold Pali (Be it with bow or blade) can easily hold his own in Hell, but they ain't no hammerdins. But then who wants to be a stinkin' hammerdin? :wink3:

Anyhow, and strange ramblings aside, I'm sure butt will be prodded with your Frost Zealot, provided you make sure to boost both cold and physical damage.
