why is grief better in pvp?? (straight forward question ;)
Grief actually does more damage because the +damage is added to the base damage of the weapon and thus is modified by +% damage on skills, etc. You just don't see it on the char screen

Acctualy, it's treated as +min and +max. So a +400 grief does 424-471 while a perfect ebotd ends up doing 1xx-5xx damage. The reason grief is better is because it has a better average damage.
Off weapon ed is moot since you'll have the same amount anyway.

Still, the weapon with higher average damage (grief) benefits more from off weapon ed.
but ebotdz does more max damage ;)

grief has practically consistant damage.
EBOTD is better for PvM, but for PvP, go with grief.

this is very true, although when you whirlwind through anyone with a two Ebotd zerkers nothing lives. Its a one shot deal.
Also with Grief its worth factoring the the venom dmg which can add alot when casted especially when you hit in hell difficultes due to Poision Length penaulty in hell doubling the dmg as well as the nice DS on weapon.
