I put a Gul rune in a 2 sockets troll nest BY ACCIDENT. I hate myself so much.

Just wanted to share this little story with you. I know there is no way you can extract it. It's lost. Oh.

Well at least it wasn't a self found HR instead

I assume this is ladder since gul isn't worth too much on NL

sorry for your loss :sad2:

see? muling mishaps have some value they prevent us from doing these things to ourselves by pre-emptively destroying our items for us!

God knows I'm going to do the same thing some day. I'm always moving items around in stash and inventory and sometimes I forget that you can't switch the item on your cursor with the item your placing it on if the item your placing it on is a socketed item and the item on your cursor can be socketed

To tell you the truth: I found it myself, in the crystalline passage. No duping involved, promise.

Yes, I'm playing ladder. I got so nervous from finding my first high rune that I totally lost my concentration... Oh well.

I think anything that can drop from forge is automatically disqualified from high rune status since this will make it relatively much more common than any of the runes that are too high to drop from forge.

Yeah, I don't know why people today think guls and ists are Hrs...

I feel sorry for you. The same thing happened to me yesterday, but luckily it was just a ral rune. I think Blizzard should have programmed socketing differently, like rightclicking on the jewel/gem/rune and then leftclicking on the socketable item, much like identify scrolls/tomes work.

Perhaps they could create a new cube recipe to remove the runes from a socketable item, but contrary to the existing cube recipe, keep the runes and not the item.

that recipie would rock. what an obvious solution.

On USeast ladder mals are often considered high runes because many excellent runewords require at least one. Guls are worth something because 2 guls create a vex, which is a high rune. Ist is worth trading for because it's one of the rare runes which is good all by itself, outside of a runeword. On Europe, ist is the primary currency.

Ist as high rune? I don't know about that. Even I have found two ists and yet I've never laid eyes on any rune higher than that.

There would be no point in having RW's that varies stats if there was a cube recipe that would remove the runes and bring em back in youre inventory :/

Sorry for youre loss m8, at least it's not a "Jah Ith Jah" armor:grin:

Just put a lot of chips in your socketable items then, and youll never put in a good rune by accident again :p
