Hi all,

Well I didn't listen to the FAQ so it just happened to me. I was trying to trade my Necromancer Torch for a Zon torch and got it taken. It was a hack. As soon as I droped it on the other side of a wall he teleported over and grabed it. In town! What a creepy thing.

The good thing is that I yelled at him long enough and he gave it back. Said he was just messing with me. :grrrr:

Maybe the lesson is, just don't drop trade? but I still have no use for a Necro Torch so I will probalby risk losing it agian. So maybe the lesson is, don't trade with strangers? Or how about, don't trade with anyone you can't reach over and strangle if they try to cheat you. :hang:

That 'tele in town' hack is really, really easy to detect.
Well, I'm supposing it is, as I've had one friend banned for it, and it was included in a big stack of easily-findable hacks made by some dude a while ago.

This is why you have a forum; to meet up with trustworthy people so you don't have to trade with scammers.

This is why you have a forum; to meet up with trustworthy people so you don't have to trade with scammers.

Yes I've had all good experiences trading with the people in the forums. My problem is that it seems that most of the people are playing Ladder and all but one of my characters is non-ladder. :sad2:

Torches can't be traded in the trade window.

By Battle.net, and whatever they use to find hacks.

I guess you could try detecting it yourself by dropping a Soulstone or something.

didn't you get scammed in a torch for torch deal?....you still can't do that.
