K. im doing now a new frenzy barb. and what should i use? mace or sword?

But actualy you should pick out a weapon by it's mods, not by if it's sword or mace. If you like one or the other for it's looks get the best of it's kind...

Maybe there's some spesific runeword you're planning?

I say axe because Berserker's Axe is the best 1handed option for most runewords and one of the better options in uniqe weapon variety...

But if you do not plan Grief or BotD or Beast, or some other high-end runeword and going for not that expencive uniqe weapons, both sword and mace are possible.

yes axes are the ideal choices

the only real difference between axes and swords for frenzy are:

1) no access to beast with swords
2) about 30-40 investment into dex on top of equipment bonuses

i made a grief phase + death phase frenzy barb this season and he seems to kill faster than my beast zerker + death ettin frenzy barb from last season, and his frenzy speed is the fastest on the first strike

of course dual ethereal stormlash frenzy > everything

Axe barbs tend to use the runewords: Beast, Grief, BoTD, Death, Lastwish, etc.

Mace barbs tend to use Stormlash for CB, and static.

problem though... my axe barb with frenzy cant hit anything in pvp due to a lack of ar... i have already stacked up on charms and use angelics amu and 2 angelics rings... still my ar is to low... i prefer to use dual swords... the GF/botd combo works out great for damage, atributes and the gf's +50% bonus to ar... this might save you a lot of trouble in pvp

Let's be fair - any of the three can be made to shine in PvM.

Axes do give you the biggest number of runewords to play around with.

On the other hand, Maces allow you acces to fun weapons like Stormlash, which is unvelievably cool for a Frenzy Barb and works GREAT when paired with a nice runeword flail!

Swords offer an absolute host of options: Grief, the oft-forgotten Patriarch, etc.

Do whatever you think will be the most fun - there are no bad choices, just bad equipment. As long as you have the right equipment for your build, you'll build a good character!
