Is there a method to socketing magical stuff?

In this case, I have a tower shield of deflecting.
I want to make it a jewelers and i'm pretty sure I can get the 3 sockets but I don't know how.

Is there a way or am I doomed to get 1 os from Larzuk?

3 sockets on magicals can only spawn with the prefix "jeweller's".

It'll either get 1 or 2 sockets from Larzuk with a 50/50 chance.

To guarantee you get 2 sockets you first have to clear the entire Cow Level using only your fists, then talk to Cain in every single act, then run through the Bloody Foothills and die to Dac Farren's death explosion, then socket your item naked. If you mess up at any point during this process you must start over.

EDIT: "Artisan's" prefix would also grant 3 sockets and have a much lower lvl req.

Actually, I think guaranteeing 2 sockets had something to do with beating the Annihilus-Diablo with a cracked waraxe.

As for the Artisan's, yes, I was mistaken (or actually I was careless), Jeweller's is 4 sockets.

Does larzuk grant the max of 4 or is it 1-2?

For magical (blue) items, Larzuk grants you 1 or 2 sox, with a 50/50 chance.

For white (unsocketed) items, Larzuk grants you max sox, depending on the item level of that item.

Jewelers doesnt grant 4 Sockets 100% of the time, hence a Jewelers Tower of Deflecing would have 3 sockets :rolleyes:

few things:

first i think theres a gem recipe to "reroll" that also adds sockets... you'll get new blue stats and some sockets... i think this might be what you are talking about...

theres no way to just add a prefix to get sockets. using larz you'll roll 50/50 i'm pretty sure.
