Hi to all!
I want to make super-mf-build & think about what char it will be...
I would like this char easily solo 8p game on the pits & baal run, and I can invest in it 50-60 ists atm
I have meteorb sorc now, but think, that maybe one-tree sorc will be more effectife with the help of godly merc? Or maybe it must be hammerdin or someone else to be tough enough?
If sorc is the better candidate, I think that she will be base-str/base-energy mode
I have already bought for this build:
anni 18/19
torch 20/16
eni mp
shako 141 ist
Also some thoughts of merc equip...
Doom or Infi? Or ?
Forti or Enigma? Or?
Andy or ?
So any proposals what build it must be and best equipment I can buy?
Thank you in advance
50-60 Ists? Wow... That's a lot of Ists.
My favorite MFer ever is my current one, a Blizzballer sorceress using Meteor and Blizzard as timered, big-damage spells and backing them up with Glacial Spike and Fireball for fast casting support damage. I run, routinely and without ANY problems, Pits, Tunnels, Kurast areas, Chaos, WSK/Baal, etc etc. Any area, except Nihlithak for some reason (his CE is NASTY for my kinda low-hp sorc) is easy.
If you want my build, PM me.
Merc equipment: Infinity!!! Fortitude and I use VGaze for LL.
I don't use Enigma though. I use Tal's, since for MF, Tal's armor (with the 3 piece bonus) is very very hard to beat. The big benefit to Enigma is the +1 tele, and you don't need that. Sure the skills/strength is nice and it does have some magic find. But... Tal's with an Ist owns it. Plus the Sorc bonuses, too... Consider it!

There is no such thing as a perfect MF build. 300% MF is a very respectable number. Even at 200% diminishing returns starts to kick in, and at 500-600%, you're looking at very small returns.
Single tree sorcs will always struggle against monsters immune to their element. In this case, having godly gear does not make them godly. If you really want godly consider a cheesadin. Having said that, Infinity lightning sorcs have less trouble with that, but don't expect to pile on '500-600% MF' and have 'godly' gear at the same time.

Cheesadin, aka lamadin or hammerdin, is 1 of the most effective runner, among with infinity light sorc.

Some might say that with that many Ist to spare, just make a barb mfer (with dual 6os Isted Phase Blades, Zerkers, or 2x Isted Babas with nigma to tele for example). 2x 6os isted weapons = 360% mf as opposed to a sorc with 6os isted weapon & 4os isted shield = 280% mf...and your mf also adds to your hork results (Barb's 'Find Item' skill).
However, you'd have a rough time of it anywhere past act 3 in hell with only Isted gear. Which brings me to a question, why Baal for mf runs? Meph drops much better and teleporting thru Durance would be much easier than trying to take on the throne with Isted gear just to get to Baal.
On the other hand, you did say "I would like this char easily solo 8p game on the pits & baal run". For this, yes, you would almost definitely want to go with a mf sorc instead. They are much more efficient killers than a fully isted barb.
Just my $0.02 worth.

Why would you mf if you have 50 ists to spend?
Anyway, make a hammerdin with 'nigma, it's sad, but i'll own sorcies in terms of efficiency big time. Only the act bosses will take some time, but not as much if you have a good merc with 50+% crushing blow. For sorceresses I guess Blizzard/CL would be very effective if you have insane gear. Or actually CL/ball might be very good if you have that infinity mercenary with -resists. You could stack meteors and spam fireballs inbetween, and use CL/charged bolt/lightning (whichever you prefer, you might have two if you invest some in synergies) for fire immunes. I know for a fact that CB/lightning is very viable at few points if all you're gonna do with it is kill immunes.
