Is the WW/Conc hybrid still a good build?

I was thinking about going with the WW/Conc hybrid build for my barbarian. The guide was written a couple years ago so I'd like to know if its still a good build before I make it.

If you really want to use WW then just put one point into it, then just max concentrate, bo, shout, weapon mastery. This will leave you some room to play around with the remaining few skill points.... Looking at the guide again if you feel you don't need shout then i see no reason not to max ww. It is really up to you and what you think you will use more.

im making one of those, but its not finished yet (lvl55 atm) so far, concentrate is best vs bosses/uniques and ww kills all other monsters. especially if you use 6 wcry skillers, i see no reason to spent more than one point in shout.

because even if you 1hitkill all monsters, it takes to much time, i think, to use only conc.
and if only ww, manaburners will be a real pain, possibly even a problem, though you shouldnt listen to me, as i have only nightmare experience, never been in hell with my barb yet...

WW/Conc is the second best build, next to warcry/frenzy.

I wouldn't go for it. Hybrid barbs are terrible ineffecient, point-wise. In the end, you'll have 20 points in a skill that you're only using 2% of the time. Better off going either pure conc or pure whirlwind.

maybe you'll use conc only 2% of the time, but that only means you kill the bosses quickly. your runs would take more time using only ww (bosses) and also more time using only conc. your 20 points would otherwise go in something like shout/iron skin/nat. res i guess, and with nice equip, those skills should need no more than 1 skillpoint i think.
but that's just me thinking, i am yet to see it for real.

Yes, but increased killing speed 2% of the time vs. something that is in effect 100%. And with 1 point of conc and 20 points of BO, your conc damage is already going to be higher than your 20 points of whirlwind ;)

imo, they are much more fun, and a variation, and they can be good, with the right equipment, because they can adapt..

I often use conc to kill baal with my ww baba's when his mana burn breath becomes too much of a pain. Only 1 pt, as Hal suggested, gets you high dmg. Frankly anymore is a waste. Pump ww, mastery and BO. 1 pt to the rest as per your own preferences.

If one goes pure Concentration how the heck would he be able to do crowd control?

WW as i see it now is horrifyingly nerfed... and i am fixing to try out an IK barb

With conc, your chances of being hit are extremely low. That's your crowd control. You can also use howl, taunt, and battle cry to help keep things in hand.

My first IK barb this season was a hybrid ww/conc. I basically built him as a ww, shaved a few points off ww and shout, and threw them, along with all the excess, into conc. It worked out quite well.

By level 89, I had this..

20 bo
17 shout
17 conc
17 ww
20 mace mastery
1 Iron skin
1 nat resist
1 BC
1 bezerk
5 prereqs

With the +skills, ww/shout/conc comfortably went over 20. Had I not put points into conc, I could've maxed ww and shout and had 10 points to spare, which I could use to open increased stamina/speed with 1 each and drop the rest into Iron Skin. Not a big loss in my opinion. The barb was very versetile. Whirlwind, Conc, and Berzerk.

I know that people have a natural aversion to not maxing skills, and mostly its justified. But in this case, I have to disagree. This specific hybrid works well when levelled high enough.

OKAY, im not talking about cars. I'd say conc barbs are the best for ubering. My lvl 76 barb can own key running when the game is full, he has 24k def with conc, and basically I just own.
