Gone for 9 months do I got Pure Lit,,, or lit cold... need help de

I was away for around 9 months and havent made a sorc since my charectars got expired. i kept a few mule accounts with my items alive inbetween so I have some nice gear for a lit sorc but dont know which way to go.

Currently I have a 18/15 clean Griffons and a perf lit eschuts,,, as well as some nice life and FHR skillers and other assorted gear.

I was thinking about going with one of the pure lit sorcs but was always scared to go one element. The dream sorc looks like fun but I could only see it as an alternative fun charectar.

Pretty much im torn between going CL//FO for the cold , lit dmg mix or just pure lit.

If I go pure lit it always leaves the infinity option open also. So my questions...

1. Is a pure lit sorc viable...
2. If I go lit should I go infinity sorc and do nova? can you ever break resists..
3. Should I do ORB... LIT like my old days build but focus on lit and go with all lit items and facets...

Any advice from those who have tried the builds would be great.

I'm not a fan of single tree sorcs. Although if you equip your merc with Infinity then most Lightning immunes will be broken. They'll still be around 80-85% lightning resistant though. Throw in your Griffon's and it will be 62-67% lightning resistant. Certainly do-able.

Imo, CL/L/FO is better.

It also depends on what you want to do with this sorc.

Thanks for the input. I know I was thinking of a pure lit sorc with infinity and merc with insight,,,, but I have always stayed away from single tree also...

Idealy I want to pvm, rush, solo hell, and mf,,,, maybe maybe pvp on the side but its not a huge thing right now as I can always make another rebuild later for pvp.

Then you definitely want a dual tree sorc.

Thanks for the advice,,I started making the lit orb sorc, now I just have to figure out what works better Eschutas and spirit shield,,,

or infinity scythe,,,,

Most people making a Lightning sorc use the orb/shield setup with their merc carrying the Infinity. Although if you're making a Nova sorc like in Xenon's guide, you'd carry the Infinity on yourself.
