View Full Version : Strange D2X Fact of the Day
D2X Fact of the Day -- FotD Archives
When you exit from the trade window, all of your equipment will automatically un-equip and re-equip, as the game recalculates your bonuses and stats. The annoying part is that this will reset all of your skills as well as your health and mana to their base levels, so if you have +hps/mana from equipment, or +minions from a +skill, the bonuses will all vanish and need to be refilled or recast.
Its on the diaboii.net (http://www.diabloii.net) right now.
This seems to be old, but nonetheless...
All I have to say is:
Will it re-equip it in some specific way? It can be an issue for dual wielding Barbarians and Assasins, me thinks.

Is it me, or has that fact been there for roughly the past year?
The way I remember it, I think it re-equips so you can wear everything, unless I'm remembering wrong my old Blizzsorc on b.net didn't have problems with her Stormsheild dropping off her after entering the trade window with only 126 str.
What issue? Where do you open the trade window in SP?
Or am i seeing it all wrong??????
^^^Have no idea...
It can mean two things:
1. Some trade window in MP ( never played MP )
2. Gheed's trade window, for example
Either way - strange one.
As for issue: you have an order of equipping your weapons, it matters for Barbarians and Assasins in some cases.

Yeah, it's more like "fact of the year". But I think that one only has been around a few months. I think they should remove that section.

I believe thats only the player to player trade window, and it equips them back to the same place the was before you entered the trade window. And yes thats been up there for at least a year.:banghead:

It's talking about the trade screen on MP or b.net... as you exit the trade window your character has nothing on and then puts it all back on.

So ... the 'heroes' of Diablo strip themselves naked before entering trade negotiations? Must be some crazy ritual of theirs.
^^^ May be it is done to easier frisk for duped runes.

I wonder if that works when you trade in a TC/IP game? all the more reason to avoid the annoyance of mis-clicking when I'm trying to get at my stash
Actually, it's been there since April 1, 2005. It's a hoax, people. Nothing to see here.

Edit: From the News Archives. This ran the following day:
April Foolery - Flux [12:20:PST]
In case anyone hadn't figured it out, yesterday's FotD was our rather limp attempt at an April Fool's Joke. If you want to see some better ones, check out the FotD archives, starting with April 2004, which has a lot of links to our other past April Fools' activities. Elsewhere, Blizzard put together a typically-creative feature for WoW, the Pandarean Xpress. You might also enjoy this huge list of the 100 best April Fool's Day hoaxes ever; tragically, there's nothing Diablo II-related on the list.

That was an attempt to a joke? That is just sad.

I can confirm that in a TCP/IP game, when you exit from the trade window with another player, the characters are indeed reequipped. When I played with my sister, everytime I closed the trade window, my poison creeper let that horrid scream and died. My druid did not have any point in the skill, it was the pelt he was wearing that allowed me to summon the creeper. Soon I remembered this FotD and the mystery was solved.

So it was an april fool's that didn't do any fooling?!

IIRC, the April 1 FotD was something different, though can't remember what it was. Otherwise, they would have changed it by now, wouldn't they?
This one is for 1.09 actually. +hp(%)/+vit/+mana(%)/+energy used to add to their maximum only, but since 1.10 add to both current and maximum. Re-equipping after trading still applies.
Well, alright then. Thanks for clearing it up, RTB.
