It only works with actual attacks, not spells.

Freezes Target only works with attacks (striking using ranged or melee weaponry, not casting spells)

Holy Freeze is an aura that has a permanent cold slowing effect, even if you use raven frost to counter it.

So HF would be usefull in combination with Blizzard in PvP since your opponent gets frozen, whether he uses RF or not :thumbsup:

Freeze only works on regular monsters, not on players or boss monsters, otherwise it's just normal cold effect :wink3:

That was rather obvious I think :grin:

Well from reading the starters guys post further into the topic it seemed like he wanted to smack a player with freezes target then finish him off with blizzard.... (post #6)

Your post still mentioned freezing players and didn't clear it up 100% so I thought I'd post to clear up any potential misunderstandings :smiley:

Well, if he really wants to completely freeze (normal) monsters before finishing them of with Blizzard, he should use Glacial Spike, since it can target small groups and is a prereq for Blizzard anyway :thumbsup:

I wanted to use doom axe for my pvp fo sorce.

Before I bought one I was wondering what others thought/experience.

Seams like it might be effective.

Otherwise, I'll just keep using my fathom

If you drop below the 105% FCR breakpoint, don't PvP with her using Doom, keep the Phantom.

From the Arreat Summit:
Hit Freezes Target
This bonus is pretty obvious. Items with Hit Freezes Target has a chance to Freeze Targets. Formulae:

The chance of freezing is 50 + (AL + (B*4) - DL) * 5
AL = attacker level
DL = defender level
B = freeze bonus from item (default is 1)

if it's ranged, the AL has a -6 penalty.
if it's ranged, the chance is divided by 3

freeze length = (chance - roll) * 2 + 25 frames
with a minimum length of 25 frames (1 second) and a maximum length of 250 frames (10 seconds)

That is how 'Hit Freezes Target' works. It does not work in PvP. The higher the #, the greater the chance that the struck target is frozen. AL and DL are also factors in calculating the chance to freeze.

the # means the number of seconds
And you're writing a guide?
