Even the crappiest Grief will deal more damage than the best BotD in a one-hander.

Perfect EBotZ (415%ed): 47.5*1.5*5.15=366 average damage
Perfectly crappy Grief BA: 47.5+340=387.5 average damage
Perfectly crappy Grief PB: 33+340=373 average damage

Fortitude and Phoenix will increase these damage values equally. They provide off-weapon %ed, just like auras, skill bonuses or stats bonuses.

For a zealot, use a Grief PB because of its speed. You won't need any extra IAS for 4 frames zealing with fanaticism while without fanaticism you need a total of 72% (e.g. 32+% from Grief, 20% from Highlord's and 20% from Andy's). For a BA, the breakpoints are at 60% with L20 fana and an unreachable 200% without fana.

He asked a Ebotd thunder maul, wich in this case would do:106.5 Avg*1,5*5,15=822,7 average damage per hit.

Ah, OK, I asked myself what he meant with tm. I didn't expect that he intends to use a two-handed weapon for a zealot. IMO that's not a good idea at all, but that's not the question here.

Without a shield, BotD is the better choice because without blocking you will suffer 4 times as much blockable attacks (melee hits, various ranged attacks), so you need far more leech. That might work in PvM (although I'm sure a paladin with a shield and a one-hander would be far better), but in PvP I'm almost sure it won't work for a zealot.
