quest drop and mf

Sorry if this is a common question in this forum. The search function is broken. I've read that mf is useless for quest drops like bugged andy. Is this true?

Of course not. The quest drop means, that no gold and junk (potions,scrolls,arrows) items drop (so more "equippable" items drop), the chance for unique and sets is slightly (very slightly) higher and the quality is at least rare (blue items drop only if they are "failed" sets or charms - they can't spawn rare).

For getting uniques and sets instead of just rares you still want to have high MF.
Andy and Duriel drop normally a lot of gold and junk, so quest drop makes their drops a lot better; for Meph, Diablo and Baal, it's not so big ...
(Odds for uniques are more than 2 times better for Andy, around 1.5 times better for Meph,Diablo,Baal when considering quest drop against normal drop with the same MF...)
