Your opinions on pvm sorc

Hey, im just starting up again after over a year, and i was wondering what you guys thought was a good or even the best pvm sorc build. I need one thats good at Pvm, and can also mf though. but pvm is the main point. just thought i'd mention i dont care at all about pvp in this build. Also it needs to be a viable build without good gear because im just starting up. thnx.

The cheapest PvM sorc that can do well in MF'ing in hell is Blizz sorc; it can't solo all areas of hell, but it can solo important MF areas like Ancient Tunnel/Meph/Andy.
Meteorb is probably the cheapest build that can solo all areas of hell, although it's a little bit more expensive than Blizz sorc (not much, just a bit more expensive).
CL/FO sorc can solo all areas of hell as well, but it's more expensive. And finally pure lightning sorc has the highest damage output, but is the most expensive and can't solo all areas of hell (unless well-equipped including merc).

pure blizzard if you want to kill naked/poorman
blizzballer/ meteorb if you can afford better gear (lots of +skills items like shako, viper, occy, mara/+2ammy, etc) can solo ALL of hell with the right gear and good merc.
light is the most expensive, and can kill the quickest when it comes to non light immune. but cannot solo ALL of hell.

aim to get tals set. hardest two peices are the armor and ammy. once you have tals set, you wont need any better equip unless going for a light sorc.

read the stickied guide about the truth vs tals set vs hoto/shako. you will be amazed at the truth.

Bluh, any sorceress build listed so far can solo all of hell with a decently equipped merc.... doesn't need godly stuff either, just bonehew or reapers and some armor and helm.

if he can barely equip his sorc, how can he equip his merc? bonehew or reapers may be charsi food to you and i, but to others its a weapon to start a new character. for a light sorc to solo hell, he needs a STRONG merc and the most expensive gear made for sorcs. (ie griff/ infinity)

His hellforge quests will get him the weapons even if he's a bit unlucky.... and I solo'd hell with really bad equipment on my lightning sorc..... I remember that cause I was playing with meli and he was so surprised i was teleporting past everything but also able to kill black souls if needed. I remember taking down an aura enchanted (conviction) pack of black souls with him (he had a light sorc too) with just our mercies. By dividing the monsters and teleporting on top of them one by one stunning them with telekinesis. If you're creative you can make almost anything work.

I think I had bonehew low ed non-ethereal shael/amn, duriels shell and crown of thieves. People give that stuff for free or for a few gems. My sorc had slightly better; rare +2 orb with fcr, magic +2 amu, shako, viper low%, some crappy belt, fcr rings, magefist and crappy rare boots. Don't remember the shield but spirit didn't exist yet so it must've been a crappy shield :rolleyes:

Really, a bit of creativity helps a lot. Nowadays it's even easier I just slap a blackthorns on my merc and watch him not die in a couple hits :wink3: Kinda boring actually. Hell is also solo'able by wicked other builds, a lightning sorc is still a mainstream build with no problems except for the immunes.

I say meteor/orb sorc is the best because that is the first character I ever made :) and my friend was nice enough to supply her with a full tal set!

I used a Blizzard sorc also when I started playing on Ladder. It's fairly simple to do a meph run by yourself. Just avoid the dolls as I think they cause the most problems.

i dont understand how people have problems with blizzard.
cast blizzard. tele underneath the shower. static. tele around in the shower, causing stupid monsters with weird AI to follow you to their deaths.

i honestly think static is the most underused spell by sorcs today. ive yelled at so many people that didnt spend a pt in static, thats just retarded.

True that, I often find myself when playing non-sorc slashing away the huge hps of act bosses with the big party and the sorc doesn't static, I ask her why, "dont have it". I again, ask her why... "dunno lol".

*sigh*

Only reason not to have it is if you're pvp and you don't have nova or storm.
