Since I began to gamble for items I have been using my hammerdin to get gold from travi but last night got me wondering. Would I be better off using a ww barb with find items and such skills? And in that case what should he wear in order to earn more gold than my present hammerdin: He is using Chance guards, tarn, goldskin goldwarp and boots with 78% gf. Along with that he has max res in hell and does 10k dmg with hammers.

Hoping for some input :azn:

you have a good setup for mf/gf traver as a pally. The bonus of using a barb is of course the popping, get a friend to make a popper barb and do runs together, you get kill drops he gets pops...good fun:thumbsup:

You could add rings with up to 40 GF and maybe some AR
And add a amulet with up to 80 GF and some res.
Goldwrap goes up to 80%GF and your boots are almost perfect already, since 80 is the max which can drop now.
For the popping you could give him 2 Patriarchs, though these are kinda big to drag along. Using a martel with some ml and maybe some ll, you should be able to get a nice amount of gold from travincial. Even if you don't pop with Patriarchs. (These swords don't do enough damage to kill the Hell council in any reasonable timeframe, grab a big 'ol'mart for the killing, then pop)

Just be sure to max the horking(find item) skill. Don't do 5 points or think that you will fill it later, just fill it before you fill your WW and mastery.
Other then that, default WW barb.
WW, Mastery, BO.
maybe 1 point in Bezerk in case one of the council descides to be Physical Immune. Naturally you cannot accept such a crime and he should be punished accordingly.

Getting yourself enchanted and trying to kill with Patriarchs won't help much since the council is almost allways Fire immune(though that could just be with me)

I like 2gulls over patriarchs for popping. Take up little room in inventory and mf>gf in that instance

I've decided to go with my pally AND join his games with my upcoming barb. Of course I wont have to care about resist so I can just focus on MF + GF :thumbsup:

Are you saying kill the council then rejoin game to pop? if so the bodies will have disappeared

No, I have 2 cdkeys so I can join one game with two of my chars.. Then the bodies will not dissapear right? :wink3:

if you keep your pally in trav..dont go to town, all will come clear after attempting your first run

From what I have heard, trav is not really the best mf spot >.< I heard they drop as champions do, though you can pop em. I dunno, maybe im just throwing it out there. For those of us who dont have two cd keys, Id say hell andy and meph are the best MF spots.

I allways just have terribly bad luck trying to find andy. Are there any hints to finding the way down ?
Like the Tristram portal is allways visible if you follow the path.

Are there like specific uniques or torch formations I can look for to know that I am on the right way ?

Perhaps the same for the Durance of Hate ? I noticed that if I follow the bottom wall I tend to find Meph quicker. This is it probably my imagination/cooincidence though.

Mainly, I suck at finding Andy, Meph, Altar, ect. And yet I have never been tempted to get maphack. I do consider the searching part of the game, and just try to find a logic in the layouts. Like that summoner thing, if somebody is helping out with act 2, after they kill the summoner, they ask "What is the sign ?". They can't figure it out ? It's right there on the floor and wall... But I guess they just made that quest easier or it would be too difficult for some people. You don't need your questbook to know the sign though. :)

So what I am really asking is, did anybody find any kind of logic in the Catacombs or Durance of Hate layout ?

Barb is a much better trav runner. Convenient to pop everything, and in my experience much faster. Especially for goldfind, you'll want the barb since pops = multiply the gold.

Don't max find item though, around 15 points into it should be sufficient, especially with +skills.
