View Full Version : Are all the sites wrong?

Ive always thought that the ias breakpoints for a zon with a -10 speed weapon were 30 and 60, however today i bet this zon that 50 ias wouldnt be any faster than 30. When i watched her test it it really looked like 50 was goin faster. She couldnt have had 60 cuz she wasnt usin sig helm, and she was usin a norm jav both times. COULD THESE SITES BE WRONG?

Wait, nvm. Wrong forum (for my original comment, since highlord's doesn't exist in classic).

But isn't there 30 IAS partial set bonus from gloves? Then goldwrap + twitch? That still gives 60 IAS, doesn't it?

i assume you are talking strafe breaks because you mentioned 60 ias...yes 60 ias with a -10 bow will strafe 9/2....the 9/3 break does not come at 30 ias though...you need 37 to shoot 9/3.

so using your test numbers...30 and 50

@ 30 ias she would strafe 10/3
@ 50 ias she would strafe 9/3

Well, he said she was using a normal Javelin. So I'm guess he was talking about Strafe IAS, while the other person was talking regular attack IAS. Which I'm sure are different.

I guess somebody could use Twitch, Goldwrap, sigons gloves and sigons boots to get 60 IAS. No gobs then though. And the boots wouldn't show.

Can't help you on the strafe breakpoints though, Dave and Fred have that down to an art.

dude i said it was a javelin so it obviously wasnt strafe. When she changed from wearing twitch to blink, ie 50 to 30 ias, her attack rate visible and audibly slowed. This was using charged strike which has the same bpoints as norm attack and norm throw and pretty much all the lightning zon skills.

Warlock i guess that would be possible, but then that is saying she was just tryin to trick me which i dont think she was. Someone should test it out:D

missed that...i was skim reading...i only read "weapon".

for a -10 speed javelin, i am pretty sure the breaks come at 30 ias(11 frames)
and 55 ias (10 frames)...not the 30 and 60 you quoted....it's a moot point anyways because you said she switched from 50 to 30...you are right, there should be no change.

can you list the equipment she used?

All I've ever made are bow zons and on them I tend to wear gobs. So mine usually have the giant spiked sig helm on, never sig boots. I would test it, but I am fairly certain I won't ba able to see or hear the difference anyway. I can barely spot the difference between a rogues and no ias gothic. ;)

Too many people want to fool others, maybe just as a joke.
I can't say I'm not guilty, cause when I run around with my ravenclaw I sometimes show people a 1-3 damage bow from the shops when they ask what bow I use.

Good to know about those breakpoints being the same. Thanks. Mebbe I will make a lightning zon now. :)

i said the breakpoints were 30 and 60 because for all intents and purposes they are. When u find a way to get 5 ias ill take back that statement.

actually i was wrong, the break is 52 not 55...it is nitpicking for sure but it is useful when calculating attack speed when partied with a fanat using pally.
