Venom with Plague Javelin?

I was just looking through the unique items on Arreat Summit and found out that Gargoyle's Bite has Charges of Plague Javelin on it (SLVL11/60 Charges). How does that work with Venom for an Assassin?
I think I've read elsewhere that if you're an Amazon using Plague Javelin you should avoid stuff with "CtC Venom on Striking" or such, because it basically works like the monsters will have Poison Length Reduced by X%, or something.
But in this case, you'd just use it to hit/infect several monsters at the same time (i.e. the damage of Plague Javelin is insignificant, you just want the effect it carries).

As far as I know, nothing is added to the poison cloud, but the javelin itself will carry the Venom effect.

Hearing that zons should "avoid" ctc Venom doesn't make any sense to me, but I haven't toyed with this much.

Ah, ok, so Venom won't transfer over to the cloud, then? Pitty. Well, another idea down the drain, haha! =)

Hmm, I'll try and use it and I'll see what the LCS has to say about it. Holy Freeze Aura says it adds Cold Damage to one's attack, but it also adds to the splash from Freezing arrow. I mean, if you use Freezing Arrow the Cold Damage from Holy Freeze will add both to the arrow and the splash damage.

That doesn't sound right, but I've never done it. Adding to the throw part of the damage makes sense, but not the poison cloud.

I think Fire Arrow is the only one that carries damage of the same kind to the splash. There hasn't been a ton of testing on this, and I can't think of a source for it.

Yep, you were right; it Venom adds to the Javelin, but not to the cloud. Dang... Thanks anyway!
