View Full Version : Ama-Sin: Still viable?

Hello all, I'm just getting back into Diablo 2 after about a 2 year hiatus (it never ends). Lots of things seem different, and I feel dumb now hah. I just made a PvM Hammerdin which was fun, but now I'm interested in making an Assassin because I remember those were always exciting. I came across BigChief's guide for the Ama-Sin, or Bow Assassin, and I was wondering if this is still effective in PvP, fun, success stories? Or should I just go a completely different route? Any advice or slander is welcomes. Thanks in advance!

Of course.

Don't call it an Ama-Sin, that sounds so skanky ;)

Ignore his suggestion of Bramble and use an Enigma with a good blocking shield and a Death's Web or Fleshripper on your switch.
Fire arrows, switch to your shield and teleport.
If you can remain off their screen long enough, you'll kill practically anything

Do a search for Bowassn and Bowsin for some excellent advice.

Even if the build isn't that good in PVP anymore (which it might be I havn't heard anything) I would encourage you to make one. The best characters are the unique ones. Even if they lose they win :wink3: At least in my books. Long live the Bear-nec!

I really doubt this.

Amazons are made for bows. They have dodge, higher speeds, a skill that causes DS, and the ability to barrage an entire side of their screens.

Good luck trying to kill a bowazon with a bowassn, but I guess it's possible if you get her into a trap.

Actually i have lost to 2 bowazons only with my amasin . I like the characters - most problems with ww barbs .... and sorber pallys

if u do pure bow vs. bow of course ama-sin will lose. But the reason for assassin is better than amazon is versatilty. For ama-sin, u can mb zon first and put on some traps, and shoot ur arrow. Ur arrow with venom/ow will do more dmg than theirs.
