Repairing the Ali Baba

Alrighty, I just picked up the ali baba from nm baal... damn lucky drop considering my mf at the time was 0 :-P

Anyways is there ANYWAY to repair it or any other etheral items or is the only way to avoid it breaking simply not to use it or place a zod rune in it?

You can't repair ethereal items. If they have the self-repair mod, then they will repair themselves.

You can avoid breaking ethereal items by:
1) using them in a merc
2) never hit with eth weapons and never get hit when wearing eth armor

So, if you want to use an ethereal Ali Baba, it would probably be best used by a sorc, since you wouldn't have to swing it to deal damage.

You could probably trade it in to someone else for a non-ethereal one.
People who 'MF' with casters prefer ethereal weapons anyhow.

no....but all items in the game have a chance to spawn as ethereal

Not all.

Sets= no.

Certain uniques with "Indestructable" mod and *unless* they ALWAYS spawn as ethereal (such as ethereal edge), they will never be ethereal. For example: No ethereal Grandfather Swords.

Also, Phase Blades are never ethereal.

Or as on switch on a barb using find item. Esp if you put two lems in it and hork the council.

so personalizing an item has (or maybe had) a use? All my characters have the personalize quest completed for normal but I hadn't thought of anything I wanted to have inscribed in that way (i was worried it would damage resale value).
