View Full Version : breaking poison immunity ?
Hi all,
I'm re-making my poison nova/summoner guy and wanted to know if there is any way to break poison immunity in hell ? Does anyone know if hell poison immunity is 100% poison res... which means if you have say... death's web and lower resist and a couple of poison facet, that you can break poison immunity ???

I m using 3 piece trangs (shield / belt / gloves) with deaths web and one 5/5 facet, I have no problem breaking poison immunity in hell PvM
Usually I don't have any problems breaking psn immunities, however it seems in larger games i tend to have more difficulty.....
ultimately it doesn't matter much stince the skeles are more than capable of dispatching any monsters we come across =P
Lower res and conviction can break immunities. These only work at 1/5 effectiveness when breaking an imunity, meaning that a -60%res lower res can breack immunities if a monster has (60/5 =12) 111% res and lower. If the monster has a higher res it will not break it.
If and only if you break the immunity a monster will be effected by -% res from other sources, such as facets and trang 3 piece. (take cold sorcs for example ... some have above -200% res from mastery but still cant kill cold immunes)
Or have I been in the dark ever since I started playing or what?
however conviction doesn't affect a monster/players psn res

conviction doesnt work with imunes(as far as I remember)... low res does, and since you are a nec... ^^
cya!
actually conviction can break immunities (just not for psn)...hence its popularity for sorcs & trapsins & fury zons

There are unbreakable immunes in the game. You must use lower resist on immunes as -% will not break immunities. -%resist will lower resists if and when they are broken by lower resist. Also there is a cutoff (sorry i forget where) after which addictional points in lower resist will not result in any more immune monsters being broken. I will try baals minions to see if they are breakable.

I ran baal a couple of times, I believe they are unbreakable. I have a hybrid so I let the skellies and the revives take care of them. If you don't have them you will probably have to find a way to keep them busy (attract confusion) and use a combination of CE and your merc to take care of them.
