View Full Version : Untwinked Fishy and speed

I play a completely untwinked fishymancer-esque build. Heavy on the skeles and moderately so on Revives, with a decent CE...

My issue is raw speed of killing. I can -take- any part of hell (though the IM in Diablo's lair sucks)...but I am so SLOW at it.

A hell countess run takes me 10+ minutes. I use mostly luck-found trang stuff... I think I got the whole set or the whole set minus one...either way..

My SM/RS are in the mid to upper 20s... THey just don't kill so fast, and they die a bit more often than I'd like. Honestly, without Amp, they'd probably be hacking at some of those monsters forever, and the occasional phys immune with high enough HP to have a massive HP regen won't die without being kept constantly poisoned.

All in all, I have a friend who can run countess/baal/pindle/meph/that guy in act5 plains .....combined in under 10 minutes.

Makes me feel kinda left out. I dn't have his kinda D2 budget, but is there any way I can get my speed up untwinked?

Running the countess without Teleport (from Naj's staff, Spellsteel, or someother source like a rare ammy) will take a long time. With 4 levels, one of them will invariably suck. With Teleport there really should be no need to get an army just use it to bypass everything, give your merc the biggest hurty stick you can, and telpoort straight through the wall into the countesses room, the merc will kill a minion on the first hit, slaughter the room with amp and CE, grab the runes, save and exit, then rinse and repeat.

Make sure to have an act 2 might merc with skellimancers, I found that it sped up my kill speed tremendously.

yea a might merc helps out alot.just gotta keep playing and hope you find better equipment as you go along.i just started hardcore, so i know how you feel.

Skelemancer will suck with boss running unless you have enigma. There is no way to speed that one up. Area runs on the other hand, can be sped up with better gear and better use of curses and such.

There are other ways to Teleport...honestly...

also if you're really poor...edge bow runeword on act one will help you kill bosses faster than act might merc....('cept baal)...afterwards youy can sub out edge with bramble...and get any merc you want...

There are a few ways to increase the killing speed of your horde...but unfortantly they involve runewords to do so.And since you untwinked...it will be tough for you in hell due to the amount of time it's taking you now without runewords like Beast and Pride to further increase your overall damage.

You're spending too much...thats on the order of 15-20 or so teleports.

Edit: I do agree though summoning Necro's are much better for clearing areas than running bosses. Other characters (particularly sorcs) are much better for boss runs (yes even with enigma they are better).

If I am doing lvl 85 area runs with my poison/summon (with D or Baal at the end as extras), it usually take me 2~3 charges to make sure I got the drop on the bosses.

Do pit runs they the best for summoners, you can also go back to nm and do runs. Your skellies will do moe damage there, while the targets will take more damage.

i surget instead of boss running try doin areas such as the pit or something like that. u should be ok doing that
