advice for a new avenger^^

Hello hello again.

More questions! My friend is building an avenger and he is end gear will be something like

helm: griswold helm (2 x 30% ed jewels)
ammy: +2 pala ammy, with dual leech OR +2 pala amy with 15 to all resist
armour: griswold armour (3 x 30% ed jewels)
shield: trolls nest (2 x 30% ed jewels) OR storm shield - he cant afford grizwold shield or zak
weapon: Rune Ettin Axe ( 4 x 30% ed jewels)
belt: verdungas
rings: 2 x dual leech rings
shoes: gore riders

Has he simply over done the ED jewels LOL. I have no idea if the ED% jewels will affect vengenace. What do you guys fink of his setup, i really have no clue what to tell him lol. Also how do you guys rate an avenger in terms of

1. group pvm
2. solo pvm
3. pvp
4. overall versatility

Yes, ED jewels will benefit Vengeance damage. I suggest you look at this Avenger guide: http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=450976&highlight=avenger+guide. It is much more recent and goes into depth as to what benefits Vengeance, what doesn't. I feel it is superior to Cyrus' guide linked above.
