if your're gonna go pure fishymaner, check out the guide in the stickies on this forum.

normal diablo is going to be one of the toughest fights for a fishy mancer.

If you aren't sure whether or not you're ready, then I'd keep leveling up, but at the same time, it doesn't hurt to try. You don't lost exp for dying in normal, so if you beat him, then more power to ya.

EDIT: you've got to be higher than level 26, since you listed that you've spent 33 skills points...if you had a typo, then oh well ;-)

You really should use decrepify vs Diablo, and other act bosses as well. For a pure summoner, max raise skeleton, skeleton mastery, and skeletal mage. Corpse explosion is also a must. Some people say 10 points, some people say 20. It's a matter of personal preference. 1 point in revive can be handy at times too.

As for curses, if you do use mages, lower resistance will come in handy. If not, you should be fine using amplify damage and decrepify.

Don't be disheartened if Diablo kicks your butt a couple times before you kill him. Normal Diablo is one of the biggest challenges for a necro.

He might have a +skill wand, adn there are also quest rewards. Anyways, just noticed that you don't have summon resist or decreptfy.

i agree

1 summon res
1 golem mastery

and use decrep your first time...diablo in norma is pretty tough for summoners...because your skeles are still a tad weak to tank him (that fire rign attack is pretty hefty...)

if you're on uswest ladder lmk i can help you out with him if you're still having trouble =P

Summon resist made ALL the difference to me. Just one point let me get past Diablo and Baal.

You're going for Raise mastery first? I hope you can pull it off... I was able to take down Diablo, but I had max Mastery and enough raise for 6 warriors with my Wand. Though I was much higher than your level if I remember correctly. Others are right, the summon resist will help a lot. I didnt use descreprify (since I only wanted 1 point into curses and that was amp). I did pretty good with Amp, my golem was able to decrease Diablo's Attack speed pretty considerably for my warriors to do their work.

I noticed that Diablo likes to kill my clay first, so if he starts going after it, try to summon your clay on the opposite side of your skellies, this way if he does that Uber Blaze (Not the Flame Nova), or the Uber Inferno (That beam one), it won't kill all your guys at once. I also had a prayer merc at this time, since i felt the best way to counter his Fire Nova is to heal up in addition to the normal Skelly/Merc regen speed. Make sure you carry enough health pots for your merc and yourself and an inventory with enough mana pots to resummon gumby whenever needed (assuming you don't have insight).

For further preparation, if wanted, you might consider luring some enemies to the center (by bringing them close to it, then entering a tp and popping back in, thus clustering your minions). This will give you quick access to bodies if you need them. Another tip is, after Diablo is released, make a TP right on where he spawns and then go in, count to 5 and come back out. You should land right ontop of him, letting all your minions attack at once. (Remember that gumby routine though!)

frankly speaking, you can kick diablo's big red (__.__) right now. get a +fire/light res equip (topaz+ruby shield is very easy to get); get a +life tap wand (if you don't want to put a skillpoint here); get a descent weapon... smth with a low level runeword like 'malice' or 'steel' will go. that's easy though a bit boring (Diablo's lifebulb is quite heavy). if you go for a vital necro instead of a bloking one, hire a Blessed Aim merc (in 1.11 you hire a merc with lvl approx. equal to yours), Life Tap can keep alive even that moron ^__^

you even don't need minions for that fight)

one more thing: a few tips concerning equip.
- resists (as said before)
- some cold dmg (a small charm 1-2 cold is a very frequent item to find)
- hit slows enemy (cleglaw's gloves grant +25% of that, and are not rare at all. useful but not important)

i've done normal Big D a zillion times in that way, it is not hard, just try!
