you can't buy superior light plates from npc. You'll have to find it.

In my opinion Enigma in a light plate is a waste, and will have poor resale value.

Make it into a superior Mage Plate instead?

First of all, why superior? Know this, if you make any runeword in a superior item, then the repair cost would be tremendous. For every 1 durability lost, you'd need 600k+ gold to repair it.
Second, in my opinion you don't need to be so nervous about the strength requirement and get something higher. With a few items you can easily wear a mage plate and have better defense than light plate. In my opinion though, even an archon plate is not outrageous requirement wise.

Repair costs?

Is it just me or does everyone forget that you can easily repair items with the following recipes:

1 Ort Rune + Weapon = Fully Repaired Weapon

1 Ral Rune + Armor = Fully Repaired Armor

I seem to remember using these to repair items that cost a fortune in gold to fix.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe these things still work.

I personally go with whatever I can wear without investing any points into strength - or, if I'm going to have to (since I calculate everything before i make a char), I go for whatever I'll have the strength for. Only once or twice have I had to resort to Light Plate, most of my chars use a Mage. Breast plate is nice for chars without anni/torch. And my barb can use an archon.. well, technically, he can wear a sacred armor without anything invested in strength... without counting anything from armor... but archon is light armor.

there's another recipe for repairing items.

large easily obtained wad of gold + charsi.

superior items do NOT cost a lot to repair, it is only superior items that got INCREASED MAXIMUM DURABILITY that cost a fortune.

So a 15/0 (15ED/0 dura) Superior armor is still cheap to repair.

I dunno, but I find Orts and Rals way more often than "massive amounts of gold." Maybe it's because I gamble all my money away at Gheed or whatever looking for that rare FCR/Res/+skills Ring.... ;)

I want to make my enigma in superior armor, because i play in a private server where superior runewords has highter trade value. I heard of a bug that allows you to buy superior items from act3 normal.

Never heard of the bug... but wouldn't a regular mage plate Enigma (or whatever) be more "valuable" than superior light plate?

Granted, value always comes down to person desire... And I'm only one person:smiley:
