Wouldn't you always win with Azurewrath?

I was just thinking about this. Shael or um an azurewrath, whatever you want.
Make sure you're a werewolf with over 6k life, go into a melee game with some good ar over 20k and fury away.

The other guy can't block the magical, it doesn't matter if the physical damage is terrible, you have enough life to go the distance, life tap won't save that annoying zealer this time, his 40k def while conc'ing won't save that barb either.

Where is the flaw in this line of thinking?

Considering most wolves are using grief phase blades no berserker axes anyway and azurewrath is also a phase blade, range isn't a factor.

The magic damage would do all right. The cold could posably heal people. The knock back from the arua doesnt effect people but summon necros would have a real problem maybe.

When you block an attack any elemental/magic dmg attached to it will also be 'blocked'.

Did any one here actly think that the elemental damage was unblockable? Wait, remsy the elemental damage is blockable. Or bannerstar would be alot better of a weapon. You would see alot more players out there using elemental zealots, avangers, and what not. The only time ele damage is good for a melee duel is when your dueling someone with really low resists.

it's a useful weapon but it isn't really comparable to botdz or griefz, unless you are really focusing on elemental damage and only dueling in hell vs unprepared people.

I assume he is talking about the 250-500 magic damage attached to the sword. Unless the other player is using magic damage is reduced by X(does that affect non-spell damage? But either way they can't knock of a signifigant portion of it without hurting themselves) or a Spirit on for absorb, they will directly take the magical damage. I don't pvp, so I can't state of your actual question.

250-500 will be reduced by the melee penatly also. Its a nice slice but it wont help vrs a good tank with over 2k hp.

Average magic damage from Azurewrath is 375, divide that by 6 for pvp penalty and your left with 62.5 damage...doesn't sound so impressive anymore huh.

I said that regardless of the other dudes setup, that magic damage was gonna go through.

People don't go into duels with MDR in mind just PDR.

So if you have enough life to take punishment for awhile, I for example can tank between 5 and 7 smites depending on the other dude's setup. So I'd have enough life and dr to stand there and take on a conc. barb even without dracs for lifetap and be guaranteed a win since my magic damage won't work with lifetap. And the physical damage isn't all that great.

Guys, read more carefully, I didn't even mention elemental damage.

the way i see it is: a good necros spear can do like 4 k rite? i dunno if its same type of magic dmg as the dmg on azure, but after pvp penalty it takes a year and ahalf to drag down a ww'ing barb with massive life with my necros spirits/ spears each doing well over 4k. it just doesnt seem like hte dmg will be good enuff..

It was obvious that I wasn't talking about blocking but about the fact that all magical damage goes through. I never mentioned elemental damage either but you guys chose to focus on the mundane instead of positively contributing. Hope you had fun but now you look like assholes aswell.
