View Full Version : Meleemancer - can it work in Hell?
Hi, everyone. It's been a while (school does that to you...)!
I've heard from some people like Mantis that a Meleemancer can work in Hell. Can it? I just love the idea of soloing hell relying on Life Tap and dealing death against all sorts of evil monsters.
What would be the skills I would need to max? More importantly, what would be the stats and items I would best need?
Dare I ask a foolish question, does a fully tricked out level 99 Meleemancer stand even a chance against the Ubers?
I guess it could work.. if you had some summons. But then would you consider that cheating?
it works without summons. and untwinked. without lifetap
on mine i went for maxed out bonewall + bone prison for good bone armour. maxed out my clay golem n golem mastery( rely not needed he is tough as nails anyway. but then again a 14k health tank is awesome). then threw some in decrep. (reapers toll on a merc = gogo to save you refreshing decrep)
Gear i'm not going to go into because i know naught about bnet runewords.
Although i will say that Vengenace is a bloody awesome weapon for a meleemancer. throw it in a nice big axe or sword and chop away.
From my limited exp/ knowledge of the ubers i'd say a meleemancer could take em down.

The miracle of guides is to answer some if not all questions by reading them...and asking any further questions afterwards.Anyway...here's the guide that you need.

nope. vengeance + angelics ammy and 2 rings = you hit alot if you are a decent level.
As for raw killing i would of done about 80% of it.
my barb with his grandfather, arreats helm and the %PDR armour(something or other) was little more than an extra distraction.
the key behind meleemancing is actually CE, the same as most necro builds. drop the first one then the rest will follow sort of thing.

That guide still mentions the Poison Dagger bug (which I believe got corrected in 1.10?). Is that still up to date?

Yep, it is up-to-date. The only reason it still mentions both bugs is because I'm too lazy to remove them from the text and upload the last bit. Most guides are still up-to-date. It may sound a lot that we have moved to version 1.11, but it hasn't changed that much from 1.10 apart from the loss of Marrowwalk.

My answer for most meleemancers has been three piece Angelic Set (Ammy + 2 rings, I often play at low levels with the armor too). Then since I have points going into Dex. I remove a ring if I can maintain my "to hit %" without it. I've used these even in Hell and they work fine so long as you can get resists from somewhere else.
