it's different if you've got a bunch of crappy/mediocer gear and your asking for advice on skills points and what gear to use...but seriouisly....dont list a bunch of godly items and expect us to rain praises on your pwnage...

This is my first good character, I traded pretty much every item I have ever owned to make this. I was wondering if it was good, and if there is anything I could do to make it better. Unless I trade ALL of this gear, this is my only character. Because of that fact, I'd like it to be as good as possible.

What's your playing style really? Do you melee as a bear?19 points in bone prison? Homunculus as basic shield with no block?

Rather than just posting a list, try to think about what you actually want to know. Is there really a problem with your build and are you unable to find info on it? Equipment threads and skill threads are numerous. If everyone just posted their build things would get messy very quickly.

Merc? BO from Call to arms? Extra CB gear for the merc to take down bosses?

Are you a pvp character? pvm/ rusher? MFer?

im guessing pvm becuase no block, in pvp you really need block.

looks like a pretty much standard hi end summoner gj.

now i only hope you are very skilled at playing him becuase skill > gear in most cases

Okay, I'll clear some things up.

Yes, I am using a Might merc. I plan on throwing an Insight on him, but I'm NL so they're hard to find. I've been having trouble summoning all my skellies at once because of mana, so I think it will help greatly.

I play PvM, PvP, and I MF. I MF in Act 5; Pindle, Shenk, Eldritch.

I play aggressive, I teleport on top of bosses, I hotkey the following:
F1: Teleport
F2: Bone Armor
F3: Raise Skeleton
F4: Skeleton Mage
F5: Iron Maiden
F6: Amplify Damage
F7: Decrypify
F8: Life Tap
I don't usually turn into a Bear unless I know I need more life and don't need to teleport (Ex: Baal).

Homu gives me 72% chance to block. Why are you all saying I have no block?

Bone Prison is to synergize the Armor; it's also decent for PvM when things get out of hand.

I was thinking of dropping two GCs to put a CTA in my inventury so after I summon my Skellies I can BC and BO. Anyone know which will net better skellies?

definently bo your skellies and its good that you have 72% block.

Really. You have base dex and 72% Block? I don't think so.

You *do* know how/ where to check your block, right......... you put your cursor over the "Defence" part of your character screen, rather than directly over the shield. If you put it over the shield. THEN it says 72% Block. Check again.


As well, I doubt your skeles will ever die, except for extreme situations. So, maybe put the CtA on weapon switch. Your AoKL can go off once you've summoned.. there's no point to holding onto it. Also, I'd ditch the Boneflame, and keep Homunculus as your main shield. For BO, use a Spirit Shield or other shields for the +skills.

Also... I'm not sure if you'd like to have Insight on your merc. As far as I can tell, the only mana -draining skill would be tele.. but you can always chug a pot. Other items such as +skills, Pride, something with CB etc, or a bigger damage weapon would probably benefit your merc more, as well as help kill bosses/ monsters faster.

yea cta is more for the merc and you i think. i just like having my army have lots of auras and look kool ^^

jacksons right with the base dex 72% block homo has 72% block on the shield it doesnt mean you actually have that much block.

remake with max block. :D

Maybe I have never quite understood max block then. I was under the assumption that it constantly changes in the character screen mattering on who it is that is attacking you. For example, when I was running Baal it said "2x% Chance to Block Baal" or something to that degree.

Someone want to explain this to me?

more dex = more block simple.. the more higher lvl monsters u need more dex to block n to get max block which is 75% u need like 200 with homcus at lvl 90? dont have calcalater, some1 check ty

get ride of homunculous and exchange it for boneflame or darkforce (you have no block since you went pure vita so using homunc is useless). I'd probably go with darkforce since you said you have a little mana trouble, it will give you another 10% max mana, a faster cast rate, and in the very best yet rare scenario a perfect +3 to all your skills.

Some of my hotkeys include the F1- F8. Nothing wrong with it. Changes from person to person.

For block, it changes as you level, as well as which shield you're using. To check the *real* blocking percentage, do what I mentioned above. That number does not change from monster to monster, and it'll only change if you level up, or change shields. 75% is the max % block that you can get. Homunculus is a fairly good blocking shield. I suggest you remake your necro if you want max block.

i have a summoner myself with max block, and really dont find it very useful. the only things that hit me are those gloams, thats why i have max light res, or monsters hit me when i run, and the blocking is not very good as well. If i could remake, i would choose pure vita, but not for pvp offcourse

firstly if u have short fingers like me lolx u never hotkey with f1 to f8 coz the distance is too big u will never move fast enough if u r pvping ;p n i prefer the letters coz its easier to press them with just fingers moving instead of the whole arms moving ;p
