You got some luck. Anyways, this item is going to be worth quite a bit, either to your future sorc, or for trading.

Tals Ammy can indeed drop from normal Meph. Infact, if I remember correctly, it can drop as early as the tombs in act 2, normal difficulty. The reason for this is because the amulet has a very low qlvl (26, to be exact). Combine that with the fact that amulets can be dropped virtually everywhere and you get an item that can be dropped by any monster who's mlvl is 26 or above (which, conviently is what Meph on Normal is).

Lol, that's too weird.

You can use ATMA to 'mule' the amulet over to a sorc that you might plan on making soon.

you can mule items in sp too (go to sp forum and read atma thread) and you can trade with other players. anyway, tal rasha's ammy cannot be useless :wink3:

Quite the opposite, Tal's ammy is incredibly useful. Either as trade bait, or in use.

Orphan - are you sure that it can drop in tombs if it's qlvl 26? I remember going hunting for jewels with -15% reqs and +30 resists, and I could swear those were most likely to spawn at ilvl 21 (that was my own math, I'm not worried about confirming that atm)... so I went hunting for them in the tombs, because the monsters there were around that level.

Though, come to think of it.. I might have decided level 23 was fine, in which case uniques/minions would be capable of dropping it. Hm.

Normal Mephisto is level 26 and is the first monster in the game who's capable of dropping a qlevel 26 item - IE, Tal Rashla's Amulet.

It cannot drop anywhere in the game previous to Normal Mephisto.

It cannot drop anywhere in the game previous to Normal Mephisto.

The earliest that it can be dropped is from a unique preserved dead in Tal Rashas tomb (normal mlvl = 23, +3 for being a unique monster) and it's minions. Besides that, there's a variety of monsters in Act 3 that can also drop this item, though they would need to be a champion or unique creature. In any event, it can certainly be dropped before normal Meph.

trade bait? wats tht?

trade bait = easlily tradeable item

ATMA is great unless you're using a MacIntosh.

Here's a link to the Single Player trade forum. One of the quirks in non-bnet multiplayer games is that when the creator of the game leaves, the game drops completely...even if the are other players or stuff still in the game. Just something to remember.

I got one from norm council, I believe it was last ladder. I absolutely freaked, I was incredibly happy - it was my first major find.
