Settled on PvP Bone Necro, Shield Questions

Hi everyone,

Still relatively new to these forums (first post outside of trades). Anyway, after much thinking, I decided to go for a PvP Bone Necro. I just have a few questions about picking a shield.

Is high DR necessary? I imagine that it won't be necessary against normal melee but I'm worried about BvC's catching me.

If it is, how much is good to get? If I use an Enigma and Stormshield, this will give me 43% DR on top of the bone armor. Is this sufficient or should I slap a Ber somewhere?

Originally, I planned to just rely on bone armor and max block from Homunculus. I won't have to get as much str/dex to use SS but I'll lose DR, so... I don't know, it's hard to decide.

Any input would be great,

Edit: Just read a previous thread similar to this. So looks like DR is pretty important. So I guess my question now is, what to socket it with? Hel for less str or Eld for less dex?

I would go SS without even thinking about it. 43% PDR is enough in my opinion. Use a more useful jewel or rune in the SS. With the loss of the marrow bug and the addition of grief PDR along with your BA will go a long way. I have tested 43% PDR with SS and 8% PDR with homo and there is a huge difference. Have a friend test it with you then make your decision. All tests were done using max block which you will need in the PVP arena with a P&B necro.

Also I use an ELD in my SS but that is my pref. and depends on your other gear. I come from the old vita build school so I always try to squeeze out as much vita as possible so eld helps in this department.

ss with max block owns in pvp with um rune maybe or a decent jewel or a hel rune

Looks like I'll go with the Eld. That way I can use Spirit Monarch as a prebuff.
