What should I socket my g'face with?

I pretty much tried to follow the uber smite guide so my setup is:

Grief phaseblade
Sanctuary shield (98 res)
crappy fortitude (for now)
t'gods
g'face
ravenfrost
carrion wind (for now)
+27 all res ammy (for now)

So, keeping in mind that I'm not very "rich", I have a 15% IAS jewel, would that help? Any other ideas? My resists are pretty good...thanks.

Socket a um if you can. You need huge resists. And I really think you should stay with that fort since a p fort and a crappy fort ain't that much different after all. And the ias jewel is not what you need, you automatically hit the fastest smite speed with a grief phase.

I found that I actually didn't need the resists during regular play or vs uber meph (w/ Salvation) so I socketed it with a Ber for a wee bit of damage reduction. My gear is pretty similar to yours, with the exception of credendum belt, highlord's ammy, and a mana leech/10 resist all ring.

I actually have a 40ed/7 stamina jewel that I could use since I don't need the IAS, right? Where is the 40%ed applied and will I notice a difference?

Jewel %ed applies to your base damage. In your case that'd be your shield damage + Holy Shield bonus + 'Grief' bonus, or (roughly) somewhere in the 500 dmg range. 500 * 0.4 = 200 additional avg dmg (again, roughly). If that seems worth it to you, go for it, but I'd personally rather have some extra resists or maybe FHR.

i have 2 and socketed one with a 40/15 and the other a magic 15 res all + something else jewel.

I cant remember what the second stat is.

Socket it with 2x shaels. You have low fhr from what it looks like. And in uber trist 19x minions and an uber hitting you can = mad fhr which can lock you.

No. He said, "Socket it with 2x shaels." It is singluar and refers to one item. 2x shaels has nothing to do with a 40/15 jewel and "whatever." What are you smoking... and how can I get some?

Even if you have CBF from somewhere else, I'd still say keep the Ravenfrost, if only for the incredible dexterity bonus, not to mention cold absorb.

Wisper + BK FTW in uber trist. Stacked resists and Life Tap alone will take care of everything you need. Absorb is merely icing on the cake. The CBF from Ravenfrost means you can stick something other than Cham in your Guillaume's Face, and the massive dex bonus saves points for vitality.

Also, I do have t'gods which has light res and absorb, if that changes anything...Sould I keep the Nature's Peace on? I actually only got that for running Dkeys, but seemed to work out ok in trist...

Nature's peace's most important mod won't really do anything for you. The minions dissapear when they die and the new ones just pop from the ground like daisies! So it's not really the best choice if you can get something else.

BK is good for trist as is whisp but if you can't afford it right now, a good way to go is with raven frost and dwarf star (an underated ring in my opinion! about the same life as BK and it's boable! fire absorb never hurts either). As was mentioned earlier, dex from raven is very good. Also the ar is nice if you switch to zeal for just a moment to replenish that mana bulb. In my opinion, all melee (atleast pvm) should have a raven.

Tgods is sweet but it's really only uselful if you're keeping your res at max. If you have 85 lightning res with it on, you will almost half the lightning damage you would take if your res was at 75 (a damage that would normally do 100 would do 25 with 75 res and 15 with 85 res... 40% less). The absorb on tgods if you have 85 res lightning is better than the max 20% on whisps because at that point (after 85 res) the enemies' attacks (eg: meph's charged bolt) is doing about 40 damage or less (just a guess.. I'm not really sure about this number). The straight 20 absorb will prevent 20 of that damage from affecting you and then add 20 to your health, effectively nullifying that attack. However, keep in mind this is only with max light res on... this is very difficult to do with this gear and conviction on without using salvation.

As for your guillames face, um if you have one... you could probably get a 12 ish res all jewel for cheap too (almost the same res). As for shael, it would be useless as you have already hit the 48 fhr break point unless you added some fhr charms to get you to the 86 fhr breakpoint.

can someone clear this up for me? does the %ed on fort apply to smiters? i keep getting mixed answers with this.

Any off weapon ed is applied to smiters (or at least all straight ed like that from fort or a 40ed jewel is... I'm not sure about something like ed to demons like the 300 on laying of hands). So fort damage is applied to smiters! Hope that helps.
