View Full Version : str and Damage
For a PvM zealer and 1pt smiter, does str really affect attack damage a whole lot to the point where it's better to go for high str (more dmg) and high def, then low str low def but more health? What would be best for tanking as much as possible?
Secondly, for that same build, what is more important, good def, good resists, or both equally? Personnally, I noticed that if your resists suck in hell you'll have a freakin hard time, more so than if you have good def (this is probly due to holy shield)

No, strength is insignificant damage wise. +skills work so much better than having more strength to increase your damage. So's +max damage and +min damage. And you need max resists for hell always. You don't need a godly defense for pvm but you do need it for pvp.
alright and max resists for hell would be about 150 all or something

Actually, that depends on whether or not you got all the permanent resist-scrolls from the Anya-quest on all difficulties. If you got them all you only need 145. Assuming you just got to Hell-difficulty and did the Anya-quests on Normal and Nightmare you'll need 155.

And the important warning: don't go anywhere in hell alone if you have below 50 resists. I'd recommend having max resists if you can. It's amazing how fast you get killed with even max resists sometimes.
With my zealer gear it's impossible to get 145 resists. Hoz with diamand = 69, fort = 30, guillaumes = 15, thats it
114 in all
Think I'll die easily ??

Free Anya quests = 30(20 if you can't handle hell), anni = 10-20 torch = 10-20, maybe some charms w/ all resi, and the 1pt wonder = salvation.(not as main aura, just as a backup for souls ect.)

Yeah get a torch, it's cheap these days. And have someone rush you to act 5 and do anya quest. As long as you're not alone you can survive easily with someone else doing the work.
