Beast in Ettin Axe ?

I've been trying for a week or so to find myself a 5 socket beserker axe to make my frenzy barb a beast in, but no luck.

BUT I found a 5 socket ettin axe.

Now, the question is, do I make Beast in this or hold out til I find a beserker axe ?

I checked the Areat summit, and the only drawback seems to be a range of 2 instead of 3. Ettin has a higher average damage, and stat-wise it seems almost the same.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

wait for ba, range matters alot. espacialy in pvp.
I doubt these axes are rare/expensive in realms.

I'm strictly PvM, so the range for PvP doesnt matter for me.

Ettin axe is also slower so it do not hit the last ww breakpoint.

For a pve frenzy barb it won't make a huge difference BUT should you want to trade it later berserker axe is much easier to sell (and it's worth more too).

I know you want that beast NOW but a little patience will pay off :thumbsup:

Oh - and whenever you find a white ba use the cube reciebe and hope for 5 sockets - you'll get it sooner or later.

Damm, I totally forgot about the cube recipe giving random sockets, I left 3 or 4 white BAs on the ground :(

And you're right, I should wait. Its just that I'm using a last wish BA and a cresent moon BA, and I'm dying to upgrade to a Beast. :D

One day of runing the pits or runing baal and I usualy have like 2-3 or 4 white BA.

i agree with the others w8 for a Ba not only is it better dmg wise is has a better range as well as speed as in Ettin it will not hit the last WW breakpoint.

Also for general trading reasons BA will obviously sell better if for what ever reason u decide to trade it.

I have a beast ettin axe that I made a long time ago for my summoner nec (first char on ladder) and have recently thrown it on my frenzy barb for grins. Definately hold out for the zerker, the dmg is substantialy less than it should be, not to mention the speed and range.

That's a lie, Ettin Axe has higher base dmg than BA

(BA still better choice imo though)

Leave the LAst Wish alone and Make a Botd if you can afford it mate.

You are of course right, I was refering the the max possible dmg which is < base and avg. Now tell me this though, why do you have to go calling me a liar when its pretty obvious I made a simple mistake?
