my smite/zealer, suggestions?

:smiley: i've pieced in the items i need for my zeal/smiter for uber trist now...
and now i need some suggestions...and maybe some alters from forum members and viewers

the *** marked items are my main concerns that need suggestions...

[GEAR]
Helm - Guillaume's Face (either ber or um)
Armor*** - Fortitude (archon plate atm, any armor suggestions?)
Gloves - Draculs (can't think of anything without the lifetap)
Belt - Ver Dungo's (i'm thinking of TGods for uber meph, anything other options?)
Shield*** - Upd HoZ (not sure about exile, looking for suggestions)
Weapon*** - Grief PB (was thinkin death zerker or lw zerker/pb, not so sure)
Boots - Goreriders (can't think of anything else atm)
Ammy - Highlords
Rings - Raven + Dwarf/Wisp

[INVENTORY]
Only some lifers and resist charms atm, should i add in a few pally combats?

Act5, fat, hard, tanks?
Weapon - Eth CB BOTD
Armor - still looking for an eth Fort
Helm - Gaze atm, looking for eth Gaze for him

Zeal - 20
Smite*** - 1 or 20

Pre-reqs and Salvation
Rest into defiance or sacrifice? (not so sure here)

skipped the [STATS], since it's all similar for all chars...

If you want to do both ubers and pvp, then all the gears are good. Really, this is probably one of the best gear set ups for such a build. And max smite if you want. Not much damage is lost if you don't and I'm pretty sure a 8k smite has got to be possible with 1 point in smite (gears will boost it k). But if you do max smite then maybe 10k damage is possible and still, leaving no spare points for defiance. So more smite damage or defense? You decide.

I don't see much of a need for maxing smite if you are just going to use it to kill the Ubers. Grief+Fort.+50%CB with 1pt in smite is more than enough to get the job done. If you plan on dueling being a dueling smiter, then max it.

I max Sacrifice on my Zealots as it provides so much more damage, and then put spare points into defiance.

If you go with Exile, you could actually swap Dracul's for something else, such as Steelrends, LoH, etc. Fort. armor will work. You could switch to Duress for more CB, or CoH for even more resists. Grief is also quite good. Death or LW are fine options, but I would prefer a Grief PB for general PvM.

Your gear looks good. You seem to be lacking resists, though, especially when you face Mephisto's conviction. I suppose charms can fix that. I also don't like barb hirelings. I prefer act 2 morons for their auras, but to each his own.

Another good source for lifetap is marrowwalk boots. They have charges so you can just set it off when you need it instead of relying on it getting set off. I use

grief phase blade
Duress armor
G-face
verdungos
a rare pally amulet (+2 combat, +19 resists and some other stuff)
laying of hands
raven frost ring
dwarf star ring
marrowwalks
lots of all resist charms and life charms
shield - some decent 4-socket all resist 35-ish w/ 4 diamonds.

I pre-buffed with treachery.

I think in the end it's a matter of taste. I ran the ubers fine before I got grief or marrowwalks with a lightsabre, goreriders, and a lifetap wand on switch.
