Grief +dmg doesn't show on char screen?

I have a question if the grief + dmg mod on the weapon is supposed to show up on the char stat screen. My smite dmg shows as very low but when I smite my dmg is much higher than what it is displaying. Is this +dmg mod supposed to have a hidden effect or something? and if so, how do I calculate my real dmg?

This has been asked at least 50 billion times. The damage from Grief does not show up properly on the screen. You do a lot of damage, but it does not show on the screen.

Just go out for some pvm and you'd know the damage.
