save my zealot

well, Im making this test char

-zealot with a scythe (2h, 182 max dmg, ar, cold dmg)

to test some other things:
-bows
-bonesnap
-steeldriver
-tandoliga+swordback (best so far)
-the unique 30-43 dmg scythe (with 100% chance of double damage? so 60-86?)


so far tandoliga/swordback is the best

Im level 28, so fanaticism and sanctuary soon (I wont test holy freeze)

the problem is:
40vita
~90str
~90dex
no shield
4hits and I die

zealot = worse w/w barb?
without BO I dont have enough points
Im using the unique leech armor, tankred helmet+amu (to be changed), rings with ar/leech/res (crappy),death's and goblins

making a 140str/140dex zealot is pointless?
should I stick with bonesnap?

IMHO your loosing out on the paladins natural defensive posture with better blocking than any class plus holy shield for more block and defense by going 2 handed. I'd say 140 dex on a build that doesn't need dex for dmg or ar if done right is a bit over kill. If your dead set on a big two hander look to bonesnap or steel driver I'd say.

Otherwise try clegs full set. The scaling damage and crushing blow makes for a fantastic combo plus it ups speed and AR. Just go check Freds cleg zeolet guide. While IMO it doesn't work as well as Fred says it does *probly due to us having different playstyles* It does kill very well.

Other things to look for for 2 hander weapons would of course be high dmg marts, and perhaps some godly swords. They require dex too of course, the swords that is, but not 140 AFAIK. So you'll save points you can put into vitality.

The best 2h zeal wepn is IMO steeldriver, low reqs, easily hits 6 fpa zeal (max 2h zeal speed) and solid damage. Also its low range helps when charging

Not that 2h zealers are very viable... well in some cases they ar good :P

my zealot looks cool
in the brown 5% life steal armor, brown helmet and brown scythe

it's probably the only character that looks cool in brown (maybe except necro in isenhart)

I think I will use him to make some additional tests (but test what? :D)
and build another zealot later

btw. the cool black armor that looks like a nice black dress on amazon = the sorc set armor?

zealing with a 2h weapon is certainly viable, on my pvp zealer i do frequently switch to steeldriver when a shield/higher fpa/ow is not needed, often killing duelers in 1 zeal with 1.5k max and 50 cb, and charge shines... I think its more suited to a 1h zealer switch tho\

The only cool black armour i can think of is rockfleece, which is pretty sexy.

I want to make a rockfleece/black high block shield/howltusk/black exe bvb, for style points :P

Interesting. Although it doesnt really apply my my pally since he wouldnt be able to use an nice exe or lance due to reqs, but then again a 300 dmg 40 ias -30 req lance would be pure sex :P
