No, it's not possible without Wizgloves or huge dex. The closest you will get is 180, but this assumes vipermagi+20 fcr circlet+20 fcr amu+wiz.

Gets 200 fcr, and with a sheal in the lidless i think that might give a better shot at max block w/o having to spend 300 some dex right? Too lazy to check the formula lol so this suggestion could all be for nuaght.

That doesn't really work. Plus, upping the Lidless is overkill, it has the same block un-upgraded. But incidentally, with your setup, you will need 302dex with an 'eld' Lidless at level 90.

Oh yeah, how are you managing to die to smiters? Surely they aren't getting close enough to hit you? WW barbs I can imagine, Whirling long and getting the occasional hit or Leap+tele+Whril... But Smiters?
Oh yeah, Smite cannot be blocked.

My windy druid owns smiter very easily...they usually don't like to desync/charge into 5 or so tornadoes and with all my summons they have a hard time actually charging at me.

2) If you would think about getting max block with the lidless, non up'd since you are indeed right uping does nothing for it :laugh: , the stats that you would have spent into str to use the spirit is now going towards dex for the block on the sheild and the rest of the stats into energy/vita. The only real down side to using lidless over spirit is the extra skill/fhr/mana/vita/resist that you dont get from a eld'd lidless.

3) Is it really better to eld the lidless? or would it be more beneficial to sheal it? I forget how to calc the faster chance to block in with the (150* cLvL/ Block)+15 .

So far my conclusion is, if you can make up the fhr loss from the spirit, as well as the mana, then a max/es sorc is very very fisable by using Lidless and combined with high str/dex fcr rings, ammy, circ you could prolly go base str and invest around 250 ish dex or less. Otherwise the spirit way just has some wonderfully juicy mods to it.

just use a ber'ed whistans in a 105 fcr setup. Youll get more block, dmg, and dr with spending very little dex. You dont really need the extra cast as much as well.

But the extra cast is fun! Plus, although it is only 1 frame, I find when dueling against sorcs I really notice it. Fighting a 105%fcr sorc is a very different proposition to a 200%fcr one. Both have their pros and cons, and I usually build towards 105% but, using 200% fcr is crazy, the sheer speed, remember, a 105% fcr casts 7 times every 2 seconds, a 200% fcr casts 8...

Wwsin's and Sin's using any claws can block smite , I think they are the ONLY chars who can block smite. I guess the only reason they can block smite is cuz of there weapon block skill =/

Zon's can d/a/e smite and yes, sins can block smite as well as just about every move there is in the game due to the claw block skill, though its rarely seen to be much further above 60 due to the terrible diminishing returns.
