an easy to make/use poor man's mf build.

Ok, i'm poor, and i need to mf wit a sorc...but what build to use?
Can anyone help me decide which way to go?
Oh and can the enemies to be mf'ed be included, thanks.

Depends if you only want to mf meph by himself or if yuo want to do countess, pindle, dia, etc.. For meph only I'd recommend a pure blizzard build. If you are running other bosses as well, meteor/frozenorb build is better, or chainlightning/frozenorb if you have decent gear.

agreed, i use blizz for mfing. skill points are just everything going into blizzard, cold mastery and blizzard's synergies (and one in the one point wonders).

with a merc with insight (runeword, easy to make), she can live through hell meph and hell andy fine.

i built her at the beginning of ladder when i had nothing. i gave her a spirit shield (runeword, easy to make) and a 40 fcr wep to hit the 63 fcr bp while teleporting. everything else she has is strictly mf. it started with nothing and i switched on better mf gear as i found it.

ended up with:

32 mf ammy
skullders (ptopaz)
shako (ptopaz)
gull/rhyme
escuchatas(+2)/spirit
eth wartravs
38 chancies
4-6 mfsc's as i found them, i traded 7's.

my pure blizz sorc is having a horrible horrible time getting through any of the hell acts. She constantly *constantly* runs into cold immunes that seem to completely block her progress. Do you just plan on teleporting past any area that isnt completely populated by monsters vulnerable to cold?

What merc do you have? It depends on how rich you are. Get might merc, and if you can, give him some HighDmg weapon.

For your merc, try to get him a Tal's Set Mask. The 10% Life leech, resists, and other bonuses such as +life will help keep him alive.

I suppose I could loan my blizzard sorc my meteorb mercs tals mask but even with that it will be slow going indeed to crunch through all those cold immunes using nothing but static charge and the mercs polearm.

If you can give him some nice stuff, then it will be killing quite fast. I was able to rescue Anya with him, in hell difficulty. (The big bad guys = Cold immune)

i decided to go with a blizz sorc to go mephing at the start.
and then, i'll make a Lit/Orb sorc when i get better equips.
